Ben Cher didn't learn its THE PITCHING! The Sox have begun to hit to show that there is enough there for the Sox to be successful moving forward. This off season it has to be pitching - pitching - and more pitching.

Over those scant 17 years in player development predating this ownership he did not see the value of pitching or that time he traded multiple top 50 prospects for Josh Beckett. Got it.

I have been warned that logic is frowned upon here.
Maybe you should send yourself and s*** n cycles your pm advice about gratuitous insults.

FYI there was nothing illogical. Spud said he heard something negative about Hanley. I replied that if it is true and they want to get rid of him the FO will make sure that the story gets out there. You assumed that I meant before they got rid of him. The well known MO of this FO has been to send the player away and then sit back as the press savages him after he is gone.

I answered your question in the next post, but I guess you were already chiming in with ass face's insult which was incorrect in its premise and conclusion.

Still playing victim, eh dipshit?

I don't think I've ever seen someone who could dish out more and take less.

I think people tend to forget how long Ben has been in the organization, including being a scout when he first started. Things haven't worked out the past 2 years, but he knows a lot more baseball than most people give him credit for.

You are right a700. My comment was out of line and I retract it. I apologize for unnecessarily insulting you.

Two good people here. Just not in agreement much of the time and that is ok.

The story will come out afterward. It always does.

Ben wasn't focused on the team. He was too busy going to a lawyer because of the Ashley Madison leak.

No worries. If we disagree 80% of the time, we are bound to insult each other occasionally. It is no big deal.:)

Lol! His defense is that he thought the site was for Dolly Madiso ice cream.

I'd love seeing you two as Co Gm's for a team........ nothing would get done....

The funny thing is that Kimmi and I agree on a lot of the moves and issues, but just not on the reasons why. Lol! That we never agree upon.

1ST base is absolutely the worst place to put Ramirez. Besides have you been watching how Travis Shaw is clobbering the ball. He needs the playing time to see if he is the real deal. Since the Sox are going nowhere and Ramirez may be a trade candidate it makes no sense to move him now if ever.
Wow, the Ramirez move is becoming a bigger and bigger headache what with Shaw, Castillo and JBJ hitting well. It was a bad move then, its worse now. I like De Aza too.

I see that for sure........ it's very very good to get both your perspectives....

I find that most fans perspectives are about as correct percentage wise as a teams W-L record............. which isn't that much above %500..........

A winning teams year compared to a bad year could be a few percentage points difference...........

Wait...... I meant to say that both of you bring a great angle to the season.......... and one I always consider very much........

better yet............ you two should take over for Remy and Ors.............

Looking forward to the pursuit of Price and the trade for the next best available arm.

Id say Price isn't gonna think about Boston. All the bad blood when he was at Tampa Bay and all the verbal fighting against him and Papi saying he showboated. I see him as a Cub. They have his college pitching coach and Joe Madden and he also likes the food in Chicago. I'd say Toronto makes a huge push and winds up 2nd in the Price bidding and drives the dollar amount out of this world

What you say makes sense for sure but when the $ start getting thrown around it is amazing how short memories become.

Yep. That is true, which is why I never bet on baseball.

Finding that "Ace" is at the top of the list for DD. Price is in the conversation, but I can't see him in Boston. Second, DD needs to solve the HRam problem. Then the bullpen needs to be rebuilt.

I agree. The sense of direction with the Hanley and Panda deals never made sense. I understand that during the offseason it was reports that both were being pushed by Papi to come here. Well if that was true fine but it was also reported just as of a few days ago that Papi asked for Nelson Cruz to come here. I know the PED stuff was bad light for Cruz but I honestly don't give a s*** about PEDs I care about wins and rings. I like to watch good baseball. And this season has been a cluster from the early stages.

Koji has been awesome and hope he is next year. But I think another big back for the bullpen piece will be needed. Taz has been a workhorse and is bound to decline somewhat or injured. We need either to put Joe Kelly or Barnes or someone else interior or external to be the long down 7th, 8th, & 9th that the Royals have. But we have to have a starting staff that can get out of the 2nd inning before getting pulled after getting shelled.

I'm gonna make a prediction that Bucholtz comes back and pitches a couple of games down the stretch to show DD that he needs to be back in Boston or DD may very well let him walk. I thought before Ben was gone he was a lock to come back next year but with a change in FO pieces his future might not be soo clear.

I realize that few people will agree with my idea but I really think that the Sox 2016 OF should be Bradley, Betts, Castillo, and De Aza.

Can the Sox really do much better in getting a 4th OF???? He is cheap and plays all facets of the game well.

Get rid of Hanley and move on.

Of course my idea only works if both Bradley and the stupid Cuban continue to hit for the remainder of this season.

In any case, De Aza will be shipped off of just dumped.

Too bad.

I agree, and also Holt can be in that mix too. Once Pedey comes back, Holt will start moving around the field again. I might look for a righty bat in the OF is De Aza goes. Holt, Bradley and De Aza are all left handed.

DD is big on power arms and that is surely something the Sox bullpen lacks. If you have lock down 7-8-9 inning arms coming out of the pen that is a lot of pressure removed from the starters. Some teams collect power arms with the hope one or two become late inning lock downs. Granted part of this years bullpen problems was its over use because of a week rotation.

DD has never been able to competently build a BP though.

Building a decent bullpen is about as hit-or-miss a proposition as you can get.

Most teams just get as many young, mediocre hard throwers and hope a few of them shine.

•Tim Britton of the Providence Journal looks at how Dombrowski’s history will tie in with the Red Sox. Dombrowski has a reputation for trading prospects for proven talent after his time in Detroit, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, he notes. Part of successfully executing that philosophy is trading prospects at peak value and maximizing return — something the Sox failed to do with names like Will Middlebrooks and Anthony Ranaudo.
Ben failed to maximize the value of several assets.
