$1-2mm from the Youk trade, though I opine that they saved $2mm. $3mm from the Scutaro trade, net of the Ross deal. So $4-5mm.

A liberal Democrat President getting booed at a fundraiser in Boston. Hmmm? I'm not going to make this political, but it reminds me of the time another liberal Democrat President got booed at a synagogue in Queens, NY. His name Jimmy Carter. A friend of mine from Queens, and a big Democrat supporter, told me that is when he first realized how much trouble Carter was in. This is a different situation, because the Pres was breaking balls on local sports fans, but it does remind me of that Carter incident.

A hell of a question about McTurd, isn't it? One thing is certain. Someone or some people in the front office love this guy and why I have no idea. He is a s***** fielder, a piss poor hitter, a dumb ass baserunner and he really brings nothing to the table except that he sometimes can hit an average left hander. This is one guy who should be sent packing when Crawford and Ellsbury finally come back from exile but it woldn't surprise me one twit if somehow this bum is still with us. In the last three years, Zach Stewart has now been the key prospect traded for Scott Rolen, Edwin Jackson, and Kevin Youkilis. He apparently has some value like Gio Gonzalez (traded as a prospect for Jim Thome, then Freddy Garcia, then Nick Swisher) and Carlos Gonzalez (as a prospect traded for Dan Haren then Matt Holliday) once did.

 

At the trade deadline, he gives the Sox a prospect of some value. I just wish they had received at least one more for Youk rather than a utility infielder/outfielder.

Trading Youkilis was still the right thing to do. Middlebrooks is ready and Youk was blocking him. There was no way to predict injury to him. Furthermore, I haven't even heard how long he will be out yet. Could be just a brief period. He didn't look like he was in a lot of pain at 2B yesterday.
