  1. The 1.015 includes a .517 BABIP. The more I see of Story, the more I see a HOF player that has trouble laying off a variety of bad pitches. With a 176/33 K/W, why do pitchers even throw strikes to him?
  2. Same as always. If we don't make a move, fans will ask why we didn't trade a stiff like Tibbs for an SP. The most important and popular RS player will always be the guy that we just traded away. And, FWIW, the 20 Ks in 45 ABs still seem really high.
  3. That might be of interest to fantasy players. #6 in the lineup with some decent hitting in front of him. BOP counts for something.
  4. He looks like a good health candidate, imao. Easy thrower.
  5. Interesting. I seldom disagree with you, but we part ways here. We shall see.
  6. Just more on a macro level, but the first week or so should be played in the south. Northern weather is too unpredictable.
  7. I'd say that is it, and in the correct order as well. That's a fine lineup, considering defense.
  8. It was his last start before regular season. He might have been throwing just to keep his arm loose.
  9. Eaton has a career .610. Better last year, but courtesy of a .371 BABIP. Monasterio has a career .672, with a .755. Courtesy of a more sustainable .333 BABIP. And he is having a better ST.
  10. On the position side, I assume we are waiting to announce Monasterio for the 13th slot. ps-forgot about Thaiss/Wong
  11. Sandoval was a little disappointing this far along in his recovery. Romy maybe the most impactful, but with so few specifics.
  12. First 12 games played against teams averaging .551 winning % last year.
  13. BTW, whoever thought of the count-down screen, it was pure genius. Was that up there last year?
  14. I herd the same thing. Facing righties is the natural matchup for righties. Not so for lefties.
  15. I remember Ted being disappointed in Griffey Jr, saying that, with that swing, he should've done more. Even though he was a HOF. I think he'd have liked RA.
  16. Probably nothing, but looked better than I thought. Might be a good depth piece or a lottery ticket in a trade.
  17. I only saw one game in ST, and I watched that game while trying to watch Painter at the same time. But I like pitchers that can keep giving the hitters new looks. But just as important, he can throw a FB with enough authority that he can use it when behind 2-0, 3-1, etc., without getting hurt.
  18. Most pitchers with more than two pitches get a shot starting. Nothing unusual. In fact, I think it would be more unusual to not give him a shot.
  19. i think of it as a W/W/W. A bit more seasoning, regular work, innings controlled, and the extra season never hurts. That said, while I think Early is about who he is, I think Tolle can improve. I also don't want any interruptions. This can't be controlled, but if/when they are called up, I am hoping that they are told that the starting gig is theirs and there is no going back.
  20. When one employs the use of sarcasm, it is best to keep it brief. Nick wrote a small book.
  21. They use to have a Bob Villa type show called Restore America, iirc. There was an episode where some guy buys a brownstone in Brownsville in Brooklyn. It wasn't a nice area at the time. The dude said he loved doing woodwork. The brownstone had been boarded into an SRO. This guy took everything apart. He tore down some drywall and found a marble fireplace behind it. He removed probably 50 years of paint from a staircase and found out everything underneath was pristine mahogany, both the walls and stair case. The thing was a palace when he finished. I still remember that from 20 years ago.
  22. I'm interested. But how often would this be? I'm not sure I have enough original thoughts to manage much more than once a week. In any case, I wrote a quick write-up of my interests of the day. LMK what you think. Stuff I Think About 3.19.26.docx
  23. Would an Alex Jackson trade make sense. He has the bona fides, but was pretty much awful before last year, but had a pretty decent year, in a very small sample. Demote Wong, and give Jackson 6-8 weeks of backup duty.
