    He's had issues in the past, and a lot of RS fans wanted to trade for him. I don't mean this in a derogatory sense, but the man might have psyche issues.

    My hypothesis here is that guys never change after the age of 17/18. We'll go to school, get jobs, raise families, and retire, but we will always remain children. The great philosopher Peggy Bundy, was quoted saying that 'men are children with paychecks'.

    Right now, that might require a 4-game sweep of our next series in NY. Maybe 3-4 I could believe in. We need to get closer.

    I just mentioned that after seeing someone complain. Monasterio is probably overrated as a hitter at this point, but the next three guys are the 7-8-9 hitters, and for a reason. That's in addition to already being down 2-0 in a game where you don't know how many runs you will need. I know we're trying to play more small ball, and 'maybe' there is some merit to that. But I'd rather have Mona trying to drive in runs rather Duran/Seigler/Wong. And that doesn't even include how much value you lose being down 0-1, and then 0-2. Bad idea, imo.

    We did trade for 1. And I don't usually trade because I think someone might get injured. And when you have the best BP in BB, you have to focus on the existing holes.

    I see no reason to ignore the advice of doctors. If the doctors said that Anthony, IKF and Story would be back by September, then you can't trade for anyone that has to be DFAd upon their return.

    I'm always troubled by the song 'No One To Run With'. It's a constant reminder to make the most of our time with the people we still have.

    It probably wouldn't have made any difference, but the Mets should've let Mendoza go as soon as Cora became available. The NYM averaged a $335M payroll with Mendoza as manager, with a .509 record, and one of the all-time collapses in 2025.

    forward-thinking franchises like Milwaukee and Tampa Bay have shifted to a focus of getting on base by having their lineups contain players with great bat-to-ball skills and the ability to walk. I think the smarter teams have always had that focus. As we've seen from a couple of our players this year, if a hitter is willing to swing at pitches they can't reach, the opposing pitcher will be glad to feed them a steady diet of pitches they can't reach.

    I always like seeing mostly green on your chart. Everyone should be available.

    IMO, his YTD numbers are impacted by his slow start, and he always starts slow. Between that, and playing in SF, I don't think he is far off his usual numbers.

    I think Hicks should've been the minimum in order to take Devers salary. And, FWIW, Hicks has a 2.10 over his last 33 games. I think he was finished in SF, but he still had some value in reverting to his previous form.

    Interesting that you mentioned luck twice, but glad to see you praise Durbin as Devers replacement.

    I was shocked we got anything back. If Posey had countered with, 'we'll take his contract, but you'll get nothing in return', is there any chance Breslow walks away? IMHO, just needed to dump Devers at any reasonable cost, including picking up some salary. I don't think there was a chance of Devers staying.

    Anyone complaining about not taking the 54th pick, with the #4 pick, based solely on geography, is not to be taken seriously. Like Betts (#172) should've been taken #1 instead of Gerrit Cole.

    There is also the fact that he is not pitching well. Rookie, IP limits, struggling recently? I wouldn't bet on him having a big playoff role.

    Better than not returning. Hopefully the plan is to have our full team ready for the playoffs, though not taking anything for granted.

    IKF might not be talented enough to replicate what he was doing before his injury. He did a great job for a while.

    I had never heard of him until the very underrated Pump Up the Volume came out. I still have Everybody Knows burned into my memory cells. After I checked him out, I stumbled onto Hallelujah, sung by Jennifer Nettles. I don't recommend anyone blowing out their ears drums, but I like to listen to her version at a pretty decibel.

    I saw them at the Meadowlands in maybe 1988. It was Aerosmith, Deep Purple, and Guns & Roses. Funny part is I went with my little brother, and Aerosmith was the headliner, but neither of us had an interest in them. I was there for Deep Purple, and my brother thought they were flawless. And he was there for GNR, who I was impressed with. I think we left in the middle of Aerosmith's second song, and were absolutely the only people walking through the parking lot. And I like Aerosmith, but Deep Purple and GNR were so great, and you can only absorb so much music at once.
