Last night you were complaining that they didn’t use him.  Or did you forget you posted the following:

“why is Crochet on the roster??  There were certainly 2 options to use him.”

Now you’re complaining that they did?  Can’t have it both ways.

I think he meant that why hadn't they used him to that point.

Tracy walked into a pile of dung.
BresLOW made his own pile

In the offseason, Craig Breslow traded for Willson Contreras, who this year posted 4.6 bWAR, Caleb Durbin, who posted 4.4 bWAR, and Sonny Gray, who posted 4,3 bWAR.

That wasn't enough to offset the departure of Alex Bregman and the regressions of Garrett Crochet, who dropped from 6.0 bWAR in 2025 to a negative 0.5 bWAR this year, and Jarren Duran, who dropped from 4.9 bWAR in 2025 to 0.4 bWAR this year.

The Red Sox disappointed in the postseason after an exciting streak in the regular season.

Freddy Lynn made $19,500 league minimum won AL Rookie of Year/MVP...mind boggling back then

Lynn was almost signed by the Yankems. The Yankems offered 60,000 dollars signing bonus, but Lynn's father wouldn't take less than a 100,000 and supposedly threw the Yankem scout out of his house.

Tracy will not escape massive ridicule for how he managed this game.  He’s no Bobby Cox that’s for sure

It was inept lineup, inept pull of Gray, inept use of Miller again, inept not pinch hitting for Jones by the 3rd at bat, leaving in Whitlock to die, it was epic bad agreed. But they were not going to win with 2 runs either.

So many stories of how some great players ended up with certain teams because of parents dislike of a scout or how they were being negotiated...insane how fate changed on stuff like that.

I realize Duran has been terrible all season, a given...but choosing Jones to bat 3 times in the leadoff spot, batting Story 8th, this was just awful managing. Duran played v lefties during the 32-5 run...he never sat in that streak or maybe once or twice and that's it

Btw, Lynn had a full football scholarship at USC. He is quite the athlete.

Wally was great in It's A Mad, Mad World. Loved the scene where Jonathan Winters destroyed Wally's gas station.

Wally wasn't in that movie.

Imagine the #3 team pitching staff giving up 18 runs in 2 games. while the offense effectively shut down simultaneously

Too bad it's not  7 or even 9 game series so the Sox could come back

I had a great Lynn story but not going to tell it here. He had a major impact on a kid and that kid went on to be a great pro player--not in baseball.

To use this last game of the season as my platform, I continue to urge the morons on the HOF committee to induct Dwight Evans. And to the Sox officials put up #24 with the rest of those numbers.

F'ing idiots.

Couldn’t agree more   One of the best all around athletes in baseball.
