Arias, yes. I think Campbell needs to reprove himself, but the DH position should be available, if he ever hits very well. 

I'm not sure about his OF defense, but LF could be open soon.

He should not be handed anything yet, nor should we hold back filling LF or DH out of some hope from him.

Statistically I understand this comment, but Campbell and Arias are not the same. 

Even when Campbell was lighteing up AA/AAA there were questions about a hole in his swing, where's Arias makes better contact. 

Also, Campbells long term defensive home was in question where's Arias is an elite defender at SS.  He's going to get more rope in the majors because he can play a premium position well. 

I'm all for waiting on him for next year, not rushing him, and nothing is a sure shot, any prospect including Arias can fail but he seems like a safer bet than Campbell was. 

Campbell.........might still be a MLBer one day.

I don't think the Sox intended on handing Tracy the job long term, but they'd be stupid to not be thinking about it now, but it can wait until the offseason. 

Managers, like players, can be rookies.....and sometimes those rookies are ROTY All-Star types.  Yes, he's been helped out by players performing better but I think he's done a helluva job and would love to see him get a chance to manage this team long term.

Arias was taking advantage of the hot MiLB balls in AA with a large increase in HR. His HR rate has dipped in AAA and he has gone back to a more contact heavy approach. I don't believe it's the same thing.

Of course they are not the same, but my point was that hype does not always translate to success and certainly instant success in more cases.

KC was Player of the Year. That was max hype, and yes he had holes in his game- more than one. (O and D)

He has some off-the-charts numbers on offense- much as Arias has, now.

I'd be surprised (not shocked) if KC performed better than a Yoshida/Jones platoon.  And probably not White either since he doesn't have White's glove.

And (just to add) he needs to actually beat out other options and not get handed things because his contract (for example, cant block Owen Hull and Justin Gonzales if they surpass him).

Yup.

He might end up more than earning a slot or a chance.

He may be given a shot others might not have gotten due to the contract, but Brez is not dumb enough to hand him any FT job based on a hope. He would at least have an option or  two standing by, if the next KC experiment goes wrongly.

"Hanging Chad" is a reference to the 2000 stolen election, when ballots were disputed because the chad was hanging. Small "c" on chad- not Chad our deserving-to-be-extended manager.

The double entendre is that they are leaving Chad hanging in the wind by not extending him.
