Another great call by the Sox favorite fan.

All I have to do for a win is to call the game over

Thank God for the concept of putting the ball in play when there is someone in 3rd base with less than two outs.

Are you sure about that? You were wrong on everything else.

It’s how I manipulate the result of the game

Or without hitting in general . We’re basically getting one-hit. And that one hit resulted in an out.

We might not be able to hit, so we will have to rely on being the best offensive team in MLB since the AS break.

Oh oh. Is it deep freezer time again for Abreu?

Maybe he can't hit, but having a 1.196 OPS over the past 7 days might have to suffice.

I've seen him post for about 20 years.  Other than his daily "I predict the RS will lose tonight" being right 40% of the time, has anyone seen him be right about anything?

Meh, I take it back.  Tonight is a night for celebrating.  Tracy is giving me vibes from Cora in 2021, when every single BP substitution seemed to work out.

Blind squirrel on a broken clock right, yes.

Soagard not only won this one by himself at defense and offense, he’s been playing pretty solid since he come back. Probably we didn’t need to trade Early in the first place. Our 2B is solid now at both sides of the plate. No room for Story right now in this team.

I haven't given Sogard any props so far, but I'm getting a bit of a Meidroth vibe from the guy.  Like the dude doesn't know when to give up and go home.

And it's been a long time coming, but the 2nd lowest OPS on the starting team tonight was .722.  MLB average is .719.  Meaning that we had 8 hitters with an above-average OPS (SSS notwithstanding).

Just random, but I noticed that the BP won it for us, but we didn't have to use our key guys.  That gives us Bello to back up the possibly worn-out Bennett, plus the regular game-end guys.

What's weird is that Abreu sucked hard all night (4 Ks) and essentially came close to grounding into a game ending double play and instead it's a walk off fielders choice (great hussle and slide by White) and it's Abreu who gets mobbed.  They should have mobbed Eldridge (who should have stepped on the bag and thrown to short for the tag out).

I have not been as high on Sogard as others, here, but he's winning me over.

Look at the list of infielders who have come off the bench and not only avoided stinking up the place but have actually done something good. Hell, even Gasper had some moments.

IKF just got over .700 and went on the IL.

Seigler

Monasterio

Sogard

Our all healthy depth chart at the start of the year was probably:

1. Mayer

2, Romy

3. IKF

Then, we trade one of our best pitchers for Mead, and he gets hurt game one!

Our all healthy SS depth charts was probably:

1. Story

2. Mayer (from 2B)

3. IKF

We tried Cheng at SS more than Monasterio, until Monasterio kicked into a higher gear. Cheng was our SS when we started on our streak. One could argue te Sox have been playing their 4th, 5th and 6t string middle infielders for most of 2026.

What highly competitive team has ever been able to say that? Then, add to that we have missed 4-5 of our top SP'ers for most or all of the season, traded one for a guy who got hurt and had another get the starter yips and have to be put in the pen!

YES! Bennett was given a 9 day rest, and now they can ease him back with Bello taking over early in theh ame, if needed.
