Witt, Tatis, or Yordan.. they have the capital. They keep trying to go huge but the names that are available aren’t good enough to go huge. I think Witt is more available than Tatis or Yordan but I still think the Sox have the right people to get Kansas, Houston, or San Diego talking. Duran stays if they go big name SS but if they can get a Tatis or Yordan idc if they send Duran packing. They need to go big and these 3 names are the only ones that make sense for their needs and desires.

Stories go both ways.  I keep seeing CJ Abrams name on the block, but that looks like a sell high opportunity…

My father was a farmer. Every season had a reason, and during fall we harvested crops, loaded everything on trucks and sent them off to new locations. 

But the farm was never empty. New growth germinated in hoop houses every winter, and refilled the fields during planting season in the spring -- just like when MLB teams restock at the amateur draft every summer.

Sox get: Francisco Lindor, Freddy Peralta, $50 million dollars. 

We plug up the infield and improve the offense, Peralta adds much needed depth to the rotation.  If the Mets would take back Trevor Story instead of adding $50 million I'd consider that as well. 

Second trade:

Rockies get: Anthony Eyanson, Marcus Phillips, Connor Wong

Red Sox get: Hunter Goodman. 

Third trade: There is no third trade, I'm bringing up Frankling Arias

That could switch day to day.  They are #11 in Py W/L, and only 1.5 games out of the playoffs.  And they are easier to improve since all they need are a couple of BP arms and another #4/5 SP.

I had not realized, until recently, that a good friend of mine had grown up on a farm.  When you grow up in the Bronx, you hardly know what a farm is.  But some of my gang came from Ireland, and my friend had grown up milking cows (yes, drinking raw milk), taking stuff to the market.  I've also heard interesting multi-generational stories of families expanding their farms a few acres at a time when neighbors had kids with no interest in living the farm life.  Interesting stuff.

That's $40M AAV - $10M for the cash back, so $30M.

The AAV for this year is only ~$17M.  And we have a little room next year.  But the bottom line is, any addition is likely to cost us money.

Many additions talked about aren't close to the adjusted Lindor numbers.

Abrams, Goodman and Neto are arbs. Jeffers is a cheap rental.

Adames is costly ($28M x 5) That's close to Lindor money, but his name has not been mentioned much.

Marte is owed $12M, $20M, $22M & $22M. That's $76M/4 and an AAV of $19M.

No he goes back into the rotation when he's healthy, which may be very soon? I think the Sox should seriously consider going to a 6 man given the innings high for Tolle and Bennet

Yeah they probably want one of Early/Tolle plus Eyanson and another prospect. BTV does accept it as fair value with Colorado getting about $10 surplus value from it.

That's 30 million for ONE year, and it's not even 30 million because its pro-rated to only 36% of the salary today.  So if that trade was made today they're adding only about $10 million in Salary.

They might look to shed some money to get below that third threshold, but they'd only need to dump 1-2 million

Is it really so bad if there's a pitcher we don't know what to do with? I'm failing to understand how this is an issue seeing how we are already on our what is it? 10th man, 11th man? people can be traded or moved to the bullpen.

I agree with Notin, I dont think we need a starter - even minus Early.....With : Gray/Suarez/Tolle/Bennet/Sandoval/Bello....You can still get Crochet back for playoffs and maybe some others too.  That being said:

I include Early in my trade for either Shange dangly-ears or Hunter S Goodman

I make another trade acquiring Gleybar Torres at modest cost

If farm not too emptied, I try to get a DH/LF on the cheap as well.  Maybe a Spencer Steer, he can prob play 1b when Contreras has to sit for his suspension (thats happening at some point, right)

It is still relative to the talent and total cost.  The three guys you mentioned will cost us a lot of prospects.  And by the third arb year, will likely cost more than Lindor's discounted price,

Eyanson has a 4.0 BB9 in AA and Phillips has a 7.2 BB9 in A+.  I like them well enough, but 3 years of a 2x AS catcher is going to cost 2 top-50 prospects ++.  IMHO.
