seven runs and thirteen hits -all singles. small ball indeed.

Your man Duran broke through with a solo shot. Glad to see him swinging it confidently

Of course! I always what’s best for the team. Unfortunately this year it’s losing as many games as possible

So you think whats best for the team is a fan boycott so the team loses money and Henry sells it?  Exactly what free-spending billionaire is going to drop $7-800 million on a team thats losing money and is prone to fan boycotts?

? Sox value is in the billions.  And I''m sure there are plenty of consortia that would be willing to make them the next Dodgers,

Probably an investor who makes winning a top priority. The fans would come back if the owner wasn’t a confirmed cheapskate. Boycotting the park is an excellent way for the fans to tell Henry the Cheap what they think of him

There are only a handful of owners who spend money like they don't care.

More owners have outspent JH in recent years than earlier, but even going back 5-6 years, JH is still a bigger spender than over half the owners and maybe close to 2/3. Looking at new spending from 2025 to 2026, there are just a few teams that spent more.

This is not defending JH, but why do so many seem to assume the next owner will spend more or spend and hire better people to run the team?

I know people don't like to hear the old "be careful what you wish for," but that old saying has some merit.

Listening to lots of other fans they want the Red Sox to actually lose, because they hate yes that’s the word they use hate JH, and his two minions Sam, and LOWbrez, and if a RSN wide vote was taken I believe it would be overwhelmingly in favor of wanting JH to sell, and yes that is what I believe most fans would wish for. What has merit is that plane flying over Fenway with the banner that said fire Brez, and SELL.

Sox need to go 65 - 43 the rest of the way to get to 88 wins.

58-50 just to get to 500, which may be a more attainable goal.

63-45 would probable get them to the dance, but what fun is a one-legged dancer?

They were 27-31 last season and 9.5 GB on 5/28. Went 62-42 June-Sept so it's not an impossible task. Maybe an uphill task for this group though!

I don't believe this team would do much damage in the postseason even if they had Cinderella run down the stretch like CLE did last season. Hard to see them being able to string together 14 singles in a playoff game like they did last night.

Well they are starting to hit better, and score more runs, so that’s encouraging.

If the starting rotation is healthy, and pitching well anything could happen despite the bats.

I disagree. You need the hitters to show up in the playoffs. Can't rely on pitching, defense and punch and judy hitters in the playoffs. It can work in the regular season if done right, but not in the playoffs.

That's the point I've been making. Normally getting to the dance is the goal, and although I've never been a big supporter of the "It's a crapshoot" philosophy, there are surprises from time to time.

I see zero evidence this team can advance  in the playoffs, and we seem far enough away from that point that even a couple nice deadline adds won't get us to even mid level favorites.

It's a crapshoot if the teams are similar enough in strength. I don't think this version of the Sox would have a real shot. Maybe could sneak out a win in a short WC series, but that's it.
