Would you rather have Raffy at 3B right now for the Red Sox, or Dubin?

I assume this is a troll post.  But of course I'd rather have Verdugo thn Betts.

We traded Verdugo for Weissert and part of Sonny Gray.  All we got from Betts is a backup catcher.  So I see your point…

He’s 55 years old!

If you want a geriatric third baseman, at least pick Hall of Famer and star of the movie Swamp Shark Wade Boggs…

There's no way that dude could compete after downing 55 beers at his age.

I would have traded Betts for 1969 Rico Petrocelli.

Thing is baseball is viewed like an entertainment rather than a sport these days especially in Fenway. It’s actually closer to what your regular “circus” offers.

Most “fans” these days in Boston are pink hats, unfortunately. They just go to socialize, get drunk, flirt, sing Sweet Caroline and take the selfie while spending a ridiculous amount of money for second-hand tickets, s***** food and draft beer. If you think about it, it’s sad if you like the sport.

Its not 2006 and this isnt true.

In 2006, you could get social media points by taking selfies at fenway.  Look at me in my hat, dont I look so cute.  Theres not much of that in 2026.  Fenway park isnt the preferred backdrop of hotties taking selfies anymore.  Hotties, these days, are trying to monetize their thirst trap photos and thats hard to do with trademarked brands in the background.

Fenway crowd is still disinterested in the sport being played, but its no longer a place to pick up hotties

MLB has some weird rule about trades that involve time machines….

To be fair, the guy that posted it lives in Mexico City.  Maybe he was thinking about Cruz Azul games?

Are we sure it's square? They're going to move the 2b bag up in one of the lower MiLB divisions this season. Will that turn it into a rhombus?

No, just a nondescript quadrilateral…

Durbin at third.  Devers at the plate…

Just when you start feeling better about your rotation, your ace lays a stinker.

Yes Cro Man crapped his pants last night. I said before the season started that Cro Man should bear watching this year after having a hefty workload for the first time last year, and I still think that. This wasn’t just against Houston again.

I haven't found one?

The rules on time travel are similar to the rules of sign stealing. You can do it, but not with the aid of technology.  So like if you are superman or the flash and you can run/fly around the Earth backwards fast enough to spin the earth the other way or outrun the speed of light and go back in time that way.....You can do that and make trades with the advantage of knowing the future (or at least how the future played out in that former timeline).  But you cant like scour the galaxy for quartz crystals and build a time machine to undo a bad trade.  Gotta do it without the tech.

The Red Sox did just sign Brazilian Claudio Pereira for $500k in January.

Like I posted a week ago, since after the 2018 season, JH has been using the Sox as a cash grab. Nothing will change until the Sox get new ownership.

Cash grab?  This year the Sox payroll is ranked 6th and the home attendance 11th.

Like everyone else this season, I'm not happy with the hitting, but honestly think it will come around.

Before Crochet's crash last night, I would have said the Sox pitching is in good shape.

Devers right now has a WAR of -0.5 and is being paid $35M/year.  Durbin ain't hitting, but his DWAR is +0.4 and overall WAR -0.1.  So I'll take Durbin, thank you.

You could be right of course.  But the report is that the Twins have been killing lefty starters this season and one reason is that they had 8 righty bats in the lineup last night.

I do think Crochet's fastball is more hittable than last year.  Plus he doesn't have a usable changeup.

Agree with "bear watching."

Minnesota is second in the AL in runs scored, trailing only MLB leader Houston…

Anyone know why Crochet was left in last night?  All I saw ws the box.  Did it just happen too fast to get anyone ready?  Or did Crochet himself want to try to pitch out of it?

The Sox starting pitching is coming around. The bullpen is Whitlock and Chapman and a pile of crap, man…

So the flux capacitor is a no go?

The big damage happened in 8 pitches That’s how many Crochet threw between the hit that drove in the 5th run and the solo homer for run number 11.  And those 8 pitches contained 2 outs.  8 pitches and 7 runs scored.
