Give it a rest.  Kyle Hudson made the right decision.

And even if Eaton scores that run, who was going to pitch the extra innings for Boston?  Bring back Eovaldi for another 7 IP?

That might be the worst take tonight.

No F****** way. If Eaton keeps running all the way he scores standing up. He was rounding third as Chisholm was starting to throw before Hudson stupidly put out the stop sign by pointing to third base. Huge blunder.

Was Hudson supposed to know Rice was going to drop the ball.

SoxS4 posted the picture.  Eaton was ON THIRD BASE while Chisholm was getting to his feet.  Hudson has no way of knowing if Chisholm is even going to make a throw.  If Chisholm does hold that ball like many infielders coming out of a dive, Eaton is 3 full seconds away from home.  Plenty of time for Chisholm to nail him at the plate. Even if he pauses briefly to check his Instagram first….

Watch the video from the third base camera. Eaton was past third as Chisholm was starting his throw. He would have scored even if the throw wasn't dropped. With two outs, you have to be agressive there. Make the defense make a play. Hudson is not a good third base coach. Blew the game earlier this season against the O's by not sending Eaton in 11th. Apparently he doesn't like sending their fastest runner.

A message to Bresblows.

Quit signing guys that's rehabbing. The team is full of broken down pitchers.

You did the right thing by bringing in and extending Crochet. That should be the model. There's no substitute for ace quality starting pitching.

If you want to win the whole enchilada, go fine arms. So what if you give up positional players. They are a dime a dozen.

The sad part tonight is that so called professional hitters cannot scratch out a run or two over 7 innings in a 4-0 game.  Schlitter may be good but the Sox seem like they quit.

They had him at 38 pitches after 2 innings and just now asswipebAbreu Ks on the 100th after a full 7.

If Schlitter was throwing all strikes someone should have hit a couple, but Abreu needed rehab games

Just have to tip your cap to Schlittler.  99 mph located on his 100th pitch.  70% strikes through 7 innings.  He was absolutely filthy tonight and would have shut down any lineup in the majors tonight.

100% right. Hudson was panicked and confused Eaton. Eaton had not indication. Of what to do as he approached third because Hudson panicked. Watch him as Eaton approached. And had Duran made the catch as any major league outfield should have we have a two run swing that doesn’t require extra innings.

This Yankees team will get gerrit cole next year as well.  Sox need to get another starter next to crochet.

Try 2. maybe 3 if they need TJS a week after signing

A guy from their farm system. Can the Sox produced a young starting pitcher to be this effective? Been a long time. Can Ealy be that guy? It remains to be seen. Bello has been a bust.

Can anyone succinctly tell me how the Yankees scored tonight ?  One inning of horrendous Sox defense.  Dropped fly balls zero range by our second baseman and an error by our first baseman.  Fundamentals that have killed us all year.

I'm gonna miss seeing how Cora was gonna manage a best of 5 series with one good starter.

And the Yankees have how many?

Schlitter may have 20 K'ed the '27 Yankees but it doesn't excuse the very poor support of Early by Sox batters or fielders. The defense wasn't just 3 or 4 feet of bad luck, it was not sharp in a playoff game. The hitting speaks for itself and did for most of September.  It's on the players. not Cora

Succinctly? Ok, 4 Yankems touched HP.

Bello was not good last night but he is far from a bust. 11-9. 3.35 ERA. For 9 million a year. That's cheap for a starting pitcher. He is still very young.
