What point?  The Sox have a crappy lineup and one good starter (although I liked Early's effort tonight) against the best hitting team in MLB with 3 good starters.

To get to the postseason the Sox had to beat the Tigers (who are going to the ALDS) in their final series of the season.  It was that close.

They did what was expected with what they had

Abreu is a strike out machine.  Needs to be traded asap.

I’m sure Breslow will trade him before the 7th inning..

The Sox should have signed Roy Hobbs when they had the chance.

He passed away this year at age 89…

Then why put him out there??

Probably because he’s still the best option. You want Eaton, a perennial role player or Masa in the OF or Refsnyder who has sucked?

Not really. If you think that double by Bellinger was such as easy play, not sure what to say.  Lowe botched a routine grounder.  Beyond that, just lucky placements by the Yankees…

I’ve as much said all that a couple times.  It was a tough play but one we’ve seen Rafaela make multiple times this year.  If it hit 10 feet in any other direction, it gets caught by someone.

I still think Abreu cutting in front of him last night (?) where they almost collided may have affected it but we’ll never know.

They did very well for what they had.

Not many other postseason teams are starting Romy Gonzalez three state postseason games…

I wrote earlier that for me this season is already a success. Just making the playoffs this year was ok. Next year I want a lot more.

What talent are you talking about?   Please enlighten us on how you would have utilized the talent that’s on the roster right now differently.

An argument could be made that Yoshida (.667 BA in this series) earned a bigger role after the September he had…

As close as Cora will come to actually holding his team accountable.

Pure notating. Never confuse what he says in public with what he says in private.

Agree.  He simply wasn't ready.  Bregman also didn't have a rehab before returning, but he hit well for his first month back.

Red Sox lost this series last night thanks to Duran and Kyle Hudson.

Give it a rest.  Kyle Hudson made the right decision.

And even if Eaton scores that run, who was going to pitch the extra innings for Boston?  Bring back Eovaldi for another 7 IP?

What the Schlit is going on?

He’s pitched pretty well in September and his supposed control issues are not here tonight.  Not much you can do when a pitcher with his stuff his on.

No F****** way. If Eaton keeps running all the way he scores standing up. He was rounding third as Chisholm was starting to throw before Hudson stupidly put out the stop sign by pointing to third base. Huge blunder.
