I don't mean to alarm you, but the Blue Jays, Guardians, and Mariners are all en fuego right now.

It would really behoove the Red Sox to get back in top gear ASAP.

It’s tough while trotting out multiples from Eaton, Romy, Refsnyder and Sogard every day.  Meanwhile the Jays lineup has more .300 hitters than the entire National League (Fact, not hyperbole)…

The Guardians are the real concern right now.  We need to stay ahead of them and Texas.

Good thing we are playing the A's not the Jays.

Yes and no.  The Jays are better but the A's could sweep the Sox.

So could the Jays…

If the offense is only going to score 1 run, anyone could sweep this team. Need to start hitting a little.

Eaton is up over .800 OPS the last 15 days. He hasn't been the problem, though, yes, I'd prefer a more well-established bat. But it seems like recently it's just been the pitching staff plus Trevor Story. That's been the entirety of the Red Sox team (obvious hyperbole, but you get the point).

If the Sox fail to make the PO's, will Cora be fired?

No as he has significant injuries on his side…

vs the RHP Barnett:

L Duran LF

R Story SS

R Bregman 3B

L Yoshida DH

R Romy 2B

R Ref RF

L Lowe 1B

R Narvaez C

R Rafaela CF

6 RHBs. Scary looking line-up- like Halloween scary!

The Jays have surprised me.  I didn't think they would be able to pull out a probable division win.

I think the Sox need to follow Great Grandma Breslow’s advice and have a piping hot serving of Kristian Campbell’s soup.  She swears it cures everything from post nasal drip to traumatic brain injuries.

And seriously - why not bring up Campbell’s again? Do they really think Refsnyder is the full time solution here?

Win or lose: he gets promoted, but maybe not this winter.

Another season with Cora as manager would definitely upset me. That should be taken into consideration before a decision is made.

Fired or promoted, just get his incompetent azz out of the dugout.

Dear Red Sox,

I am starting to get a knot in the pit of my stomach.  Don't do this to me!

Just WIN!

I've got a knot in the pit of my stomach, but it's definitely not because of the Sox.

He could take DHam's or the 3rd catcher's slot without causing any issues.

I'm pretty certain the top Sox guys don't view Cora as a negative manager. It would be about wanting him in a higher role plus him wanting it, too.

It makes sense that they use this winter and the GM opening to promote him.

I like him as a manager. I think he has dealt with some seriously flawed rosters- 25, 26 and 40's. He's not really had more injuries than some other teams, but this year was too many to key players, on top of his boss taking away his best batter in early June.

We agree to disagree about Cora as a manager. I agree with notin about Cora being a good trash can banger.

He has no experience actually banging.

He's good at delegating that task, though.

I'd prefer some Canned Heat!

I love their swampy blues. But I was thinking of the great baseball film Bang the Drum Slowly.

Hey, Moon, wouldn't it be great if Roy Hobbs walked into the Sox dugout and talked Cora into starting him in the outfield. After the game was over Cora would tell the press "that guy's a natural, but he can't be wearing Ted Williams' number."
