Game.  Great win thanks to mighty Duran and everyone who pitched the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th innings.

I’m so happy Whitlock stopped getting jerked around from starter to reliever and most importantly is healthy!

They have to do the same with Houck and you have a very good pen right there on paper.

Two very different closers, Uehara and Chapman.

Both 100% effective though

Once Slaten is back, this BP will be very tough to beat. Chapman-Whitlock-Slaten-Matz. Also you have two very solid in Bernardino and Wilson.

Runner on third one out and we get two backward Ks.

At Yankee Stadium the Sox had the bases loaded followed by 3 K's.

Matz: "Well I helped too."

Matz was terrific in the 6th and 7th.  So was Fitz in the 4th and 5th, Whitlock in the 8th, and Chapman in the 9th

One would think so.

Too bad Wong wasn't catching when Steven Wright was pitching for the Sox.

It's better without the "R" like wRong to Wong. Wright to right or White.

Too bad Barry White never pitched.

I said that from 2021 to 2023.  I also think it applies to Fitts…

Houck would probably be great from the pen, but unlike Whitlock, he actually had some great success as a SP'er. He was our ace for more than half od 2024, and had some good stretches in other seasons as a RP'er and SP'er.

Injuries have messed him up, several times.

We do seem to be pretty deep at SP'er, especially if we add a big name to replace Buehler.

Houck wont be back until 2027, anyway, so ...

The Sox are 16-4 against the Yankems and the Rays, which means the Sox are 1 game below .500 against the rest of MLB.

OK, we get it!

As moon says, this is typical random stuff in baseball and means next to nothing.  All that matters is the total record.

But they went 1-5 against the Angels!

If you exclude blowouts, the Sox have a ZERO run differential and are 1 game over .500.

Game over man, game over!
