Red Sox going up against my nearest MLB neighbors  masquerading as Angels. 

Probably one of the worst owners ( Arte Moreno) and unlucky GM's ( Perry Minasian)  in the business. Reminds me in some ways of their East Coast counterparts.

Ron Washington ,the current manager,  is the one who told Billy Beane that playing 1B was very difficult to unsuccessfully discourage Scott Hatteberg .

Pittsburgh has no intention of trading Skenes per MassLive article. He is under team control for 4 more years beginning 2026.

Pirates have Cruz in CF with OPS of .873 and McCuthen as DH with OPS of .730. Their OPS team ranking by each position is 2-9-9-10-12-12-13-15-15. They need tons of help. But they are very cheap. They require tons of team controlled players.

Would you give up say, Duran, Abreu (replace him with Anthony), Campbell, Fitts, Dobbins and a couple more minor leaguers plus money for Skenes?

We would still have Narvarez, Gonzalez(Casas), Hamilton, Story, Mayer, Password, Rafaela, Anthony, and Devers. We'll get Bregman back and move Mayer to short and Story to 2B.

We'd have our 2nd ace.

Too bad Gonzalez didn't get here in time to pitch.   Last time I saw FItts pitch I was amazed at his ability to locate.   Maybe he's been aiming for the middle of the plate the whole time, and this latest IL stint gave him time to perfect it.

A prescient point.  It's that lousy lineup that enabled the Angels to jump out to a 6-0 lead in the top half of the 1st inning.  

This fixation on lineups is just stupid.
