Send down Hamilton along with Casas already. These guys are useless in the extentest sense of the definition.

Yeah, good call on Casas. 😝

That didn’t age well.

Glad I showed patience with Casas . He got the hit that counted in the end.

A win will record the same regardless of score and circumstances but just should not have had to struggle and risk losing that one.

I would’ve let Crotchet at least start the 7th

Shutouts deserve at least that. They used to get you through the 8th, if not finish, if kept up. I'm not sure how much pitchers care about their wins but he's not getting one.

I'm not against babying Crochet and limiting his innings. If we make the playoffs, we may look back and be thankful.

I think 96 pitches in mid April was fine.

Man, You don’t know how much I’m enjoying watching today’s Yankees’ choke lol it’s a must see and beyond sublime.

I think the move was letting Crochet start the 7th against the bottom of the order (like I posted before Weissert blew game, this wasn’t hindsight.) if he looks tired/allowed any base runners, have Whitlock ready.

I guess Cora didn’t want to use Whitlock in the 7th to preserve him but due ended up using him anyway because Weissert s*** the bed.

I’m enjoying that Devin Williams forgot how to play baseball

I agree. Having someone like Crochet, it would be nice to only worry about winning the games he doesn't pitch.

If he wants to ease pitchers into the season, OK but studs must be studs.

Crochet is not just any pitcher. He blew away his IP high, last year by like 90 IP, and it was only 146 IP.

You expect 180 and then playoff innings?

He was at 96 pitches after 6 innings.  Sometimes you can have a 1-2-3 inning but throw 20 pitches, which would have put him at 116 pitches, which is a little too much at this point in the year.

I'm kind of a Cora fanboy, but I think he does an A-1 job with the pitching changes.  Of course when a decision backfires he's going to get blamed.

Sometimes the "right move" doesn't work out. I will always believe that.

Some of the hits off Weissert were not scorched.

Hey, we got the win.

Later in the season, we may look back and be happy we eased Crochet into a full season of starting pitching.
