J. Duran LF
R. Devers DH
A. Bregman 3B
T. Story SS
W. Abreu RF
K. Campbell 2B
T. Casas 1B
C. Narvaez C
C. Rafaela CF

Substitute Anthony for Rafaela and this should be our strongest offensive lineup.

Casas has to work his way out of his slow start. Same goes for Duran.

Duran certainly had a few hard hit at'em balls before getting his single.  He does need to put the ball in play, then run like hell.   It will  energize the team to keep the line moving

I would really like the flexibility having Rafaela as the uber utility man.

He can play CF as well as anyone in MLB, so by moving others to LF and RF, he can essentially back up LF, CF & RF.

He can also be the first in line to back up SS, 2B and 3B (or Campbell to 3B and Rafaela to 2B.)

That's 6 positions he'd be the next in line. He could also PR, unless DHam stays on the 26 when Anthony is called up (not likely, though.)

Cora would be in heaven.

Call up Grissom & demote DHam.

When Anthony is okay to play OF and gets the extra year of control, call him up and demote Romy.

vs RHPs:

1. L Duran CF

2. L Devers

3. R Bregman

4. L Abreu

5. R Story

6. L Anthony LF

7, R Campbell 2B

8. L Casas 1B

9. R Narvaez/Grandal/Wong C

vs LHPs:

1. L Duran CF

2, R Campbell

3. L Devers

4. R Bregman

5. R Story

6. R Refsnyder LF

7. L Anthony RF

8. R Grissom  1B (or Romy)

9. R Narvaez/Grandal/Wong C

Don't we already have extra year's control? He needs 172 days.......12+31+30+31+31+30=165 days left in the season at most.......what do you know that I don't

If he comes up now, he could qualify for Super Two status and lose the extra year because he’d qualify for arbitration early.

Once again, offense is leaving it up to Crochet to get the shutout.  Poor decision.  His pitch count accelerated in 3rd and he is not perfectly sharp .

Get this man some runs.

Smith looks like he could be a pretty good pitcher; he’s only allowed 4 runs in over 20 innings this year and he had good numbers in the minors as well.  Time will tell but he may be a break out guy like Crochet was last year for the Pale Hose.

400' opposite field power ?      Devers opens the scoring with a 3 run bomb.    Good for him and Crochet.

Little things, little things.     Weissert has been good to date ( it's early)  but blows a 3 run lead .  Casas-Story just miss on a DP that would have made Weissert look good.

It looked like Story caught the ball, made the tag awkwardly and the ball leaked out of his glove, extending the inning. Then the bomb.

But you also have to look at the offense once again.  4 hits, including the 3 run HR that made everyone think this one was over .  Mulktiple walks and 3 HBP's and the batters could not scratch out a run.

Noe we are in the 8th, tied with a team that is a dead loser except when playing the Red Sox.  Go figure.

Crochet deserves a stronger team behind him.  They seem content to let him work and maybe the rest will try to stay awake.

Hamilton running on contact, Rafaela bounces to the pitcher, throws out Hamilton.  Goes from man on second no outs to Cedanne on first , 2 outs Devers ready to win it.

Two mistakes by Hamilton there.  One was going on contact.  The second was once he went, he needed to stop and get into a run down long enough that Rafaela could replace him at second.
