The last time I kicked back, thinking "OK, I'll just chill and root for a .500 season and everyone will be happy ..."  Todd Benzinger goes about 20 rows deep into the bleachers, and the RS go on a 22-game win streak.   So maybe ...

Casas with the 3rd highest LD% and Duran 4th (unless you count Romy 4th.)

Hmmmm....

I’m not really worried about Duran. He’s been hitting the ball pretty hard with a lot of bad luck early on.

The numbers show Casas is, too, but many of us are losing hope on Tristan.

I think people are so low on Casas is because when he isn’t hitting, he doesn’t really add anything, as he’s bad defensively and very slow baserunner.

Casas is also carrying a high k rate and watching a lot of called third strikes. He's frustrating as hell and not providing any defense.

Happy Birthday to Red Sox legends Jim Lonborg, Travis Shaw, Richard Bleier and Bob Montgomery.

It’s weird to list out 4 Red Sox, give Travis Shaw second billing, and then look at the list and think “ yeah, seems about right.”

Casas 2023  10-75 thr 4/30  18-70 May

Casas 2025  11-61 thr 4/15

He's actually ahead of his 2023 pace. May 2023 was just okay .257 .767 OPS

It was listed by career bWAR I believe. Montgomery would get second billing for all his time spent broadcasting during my childhood if I was listing based on overall importance (Lonborg>Monty>Shaw>Bleier).

.682 after 11 games

.743 after 14

I'm not really worried about Casas either, but I seem to be in the minority on that.

I wouldn’t say I’m “worried” but he has been very bad at all facets of the game thus far and I get being frustrated with him

I don't want to say how I feel about this lineup today.

With "Pregman" out, it might have been nice to rest Campbell.

1. Duran

2. Devers

3. Story

4. Abreu

5. Romy (lefty killer up 5th vs righty)

6. Casas (Time to bust out of the funk)

7. Narvaez (more like a 9 slot guy)

8. DHam (starting of real slow, again)

9. Rafaela (Is he hearing Anthony foot steps?)

It is fair to be frustrated with him.  I am frustrated with him.  I don't think we should give up on him though (not saying that you are, but I've been reading posts about Yoshida at first base.)

Those have to be joke posts.

5 batters in Sox lineup with BA's below .225.   I know it is OPS that counts but why insult them further ?

Hope we don't get back to the top of the lineup being no hit by Littell, a lesser skilled thrower.

David H and Cedanne, it is up to you, buds
