Following the minors might be more fun than the big club, now.

Woo rained out.

POR won 2-1. Romero had 2 hits. Bolden pitched well. The Sea Dogs are 48-48.

GRE is losing 3-2, early. YRod with 2 hits.

Romero promoted to Worcester I think

Castro  with the outfield assist

Our farm is looking very good, despite all the graduations.

I expect our farm pitching to take off in the next 1-3 years.

I think our everyday prospects will hold their own.

C: Jo Garcia, Brannon, Salazar, Jo Rod

1B: Campbell (graduated)

2B: Cespedes, Cason, M White, Alcantara, Godbout (Grissom- graduated)

SS: Arias, Ramos (Sogard)

3B: Romero, Reimer, Nunez

LF: Y Rod, Yuten, Azocar, Cespedes? (Eaton)

CF: Taylor, Bleis, Rivas  (Castro)

RF: Jh Garcia, Ju Gonzales

DH: Hickey, Cespedes?

It's not great, but with so many showing promise, I expect enough to jump up and shine.

The rotations look very promising, with some needing to move to the pen:

AAA: Harrison, Fitts, Tolle, Early, Uberstine, Sandlin, Perales, Wehunt, Drohan (That's 9, if none make the big squad!)

AA: Clarke, Paez, Holobetz, Rivera, Rogers/Dean (maybe a AAA guys starts out at AA) Monegro will be on the IL

A+: Valera, Witherspoon, Phillips, Evanson, Aita, Tygart, Judice (IL)

A-: Fajardo, Neely, Travieso, J Bello, J Gartrell, Y Ruiz, M Patton, B Morgan, D Brown

FCL looks very promising: Cason, Delzine, Reyes, Frias, Zink, Cordero

I am a bit (slightly) concerned that our farm system is light on quality bats!  Arias, Campbell, Gonzales, password and maybe Romero!!!!
I know we just graduated a bunch of bats these past two years and traded away some very nice bats to Chicago. (Well worth it I might add)

but we have to keep talent in the funnel

The ins that just graduated have 5 years. That’s enough time to build back up.

Maybe! But what flexibility do we have while waiting for the next batch????

He's the last resort call up.

Criswell did very well as a SP'er for the Sox, last year.

We started 9 other pitchers before him, this year. It would have been 10 had Sandoval been ready.

Woo won 2, today.

JH Garcia his a granny as Sandlin pitched very well. Kelly, too.

Garcia had 2 hits in the other win. Harrison allowed 10 H+BB in 5 IP, but he only allowed 2 runs.

Rogers pitched very well in the 2-1 loss by POR.

Futrell went 5IP allowing just 1BB & 1 hit.

In the Portland game, Castro with the outfield assist at third base!!!

in the Salem game, Justin Gonzales with the sacrifice fly to win it 1-0 for Salem.

Early struggled with control: 5BB in 3.2 IP, but allowed no runs and just 2 hits. Jh Garcia hit his 14th dinger and has 2 hits through 6 innings. KC & Grissom are both 1 for 3.

Both DSL teams won, today and are now over .500 after pretty bad starts. The Red team pitched a 1 hitter. The Blue team allowed 2 hits.

Tolle on a limited pitch count I think

More OF depth on an already crowded ML roster.

If we didn't need Rafaela at 2B, not trading an OF'er could have ended up being grounds for a criminal investigation.

Except for Mayer injury, I think bres-slow really likes our position player lineup!

I think he was frustrated that he could not use only prospects to get pitchers

I'm not so sure he likes trading prospects either.

I have to think he could have gotten better than M & M by offering other prospects, or better one. He couldn't fine a LHB 1Bman for even just a deal like Cespedes & Mullins?

Who is the odd MEN out of the Woo rotation?

1. Tolle

2. Criswell

3. Fitts

4. Sandlin

5. Early

6. Uberstine

7. de Leon (okay, he's the easy one, but...)

Second Q: Do we promote someone to POR, or demote de Leon?

Last time pitching, uberstine pitched out of the bullpen. If uberstine wants to get to Boston with his fringy stuff. The bullpen is the way to go.

Acala is ready for a trip to the DL with a strained forearm!!

Tolle -- he'll be groomed as a reliever for the stretch run.

Prospects we may see in September: Harrison (on the 40 man), Sandlin (needs to be added for rule 5 anyway), Tolle
