Barrett Morgan, the JC 11th round pick - signs for $500K ...

Everyone has signed except for the 20th rounder Garrison Sumner. They can go up to about $183k for him.

Criswell went 5 scoreless innings, 2 H, 2BB, 6K. K Campbell & Hickey homered in game 1.

POR won 5-3. Not much to report.

GRE was shut out, but Bleis got 2 hits (.738) Arias is now down to .702.

SAL lost. Gartrell: 4 IP, 2H, 0ER, 0BB, 5K

FCL lost 12-11. They had 6 hits and 11 BBs. Our pitchers let up 13 hits and walked 9.

That was FCL's last game of the season. Expect a bunch of promotions, IL adjustments and releases. The domestic reserve lists is at 153/165 and they signed 21 draft picks and UDFA's.

Grissom homered, again, and Campbell had 3 hits.

Rosario homered twice to help Tolle get win. (5IP, 2H, 1ER, 1BB, 4K: 1.96 ERA) Song got the 1.2 IP save.

GRE & SAL lost and scored just 1 run, total, but Fajardo went 5.1, 5H, 0ER, 2BB, 3K. (We got him for Cam Booser.)

Grissom homered, yet again! Campbell had 3 hits for the second straight day. He also homered. Harrison struggled with control- walking 3 in 3.2 IP.

SAL lost 6-5, as Gonzales had 3 hits and Cespedes & Nunez had 2.

Early and Sandlin promoted to Worcester!

does this mean some trades are in the works ????

it could, though both of them are definite possibilities to get rotation looks.  Early has been the most fascinating pitcher in the system just because while he does not have wipeout stuff on paper, his entire minor league career has been a dude who simply gets batters out.

Harrison will eventually get called up. Sox may need someone to cover for Chapman, which pushes a current AAA starter to the AAA pen. Also, Early and Sandlin were probably on track innings wise to be in AAA.

Early's main issue is holding velo. Some starts, he'll be at 97. Other starts, he won't break 94.

Why has Criswell hardly gotten long looks?

His numbers in AAA are worse this year. He's most likely behind Kyle Harrison on the depth chart. He was called up earlier in the year and didn't look up. He also doesn't pitch very well out of the pen.

Agreed. Others given starts did not have great AAA numbers either.

Is Criswell still on the 40 man roster? Would not he get first call up???

They’ve given several others a look over him. He did get a chance or two earlier in the season.

He's the last resort call up.
