I guess the genius FO figures Romy can handle 1st base. Plus he's a RH bat.

I'm pretty sure some other team will pick up Mr Smith. He did a good job for this injury plagued team.

Speaking of the great Stephen King. Before the start of the 2004 season, King decided that he and a friend of his would attend every SOX game that season. Stephen would attend half and his friend would attend the other half. They would keep a diary of every game. Why he picked 2004 to do this, just adds to the spookiness of Mr King.
