Lugo and Arias might earn honourable mention, for position player break out half seasons.

Who ate your pitcher break outs?

Perales, Penrose and Early?

I have no breakout stars among pitchers!

Cruz is someone that could be! But start to start he is still inconsistent and some starts he executes pitches and other starts, he can’t finish pitches

Has reliever potential I think

I watched fitts pitch and it looks to like opposing batters sit on his slider. He needs a cutter type pitch really badly to keep hitters from loading up on the slider

Yup, two pitch pitcher is he problem. It's why some see him as a reliever.

A 23 year old in low a ball????

Early is in Greenville which is High A. It's his first full pro season after college. I don't see an issue. He's not a TOTR starter. He maybe projects as a back end starter if all the cards break right.

Also, a WHIP of 1.12 is pretty decent for Greenville considering how bad that IF defense has been there.

Duffy pitched five innings and gave up zero runs.

Duffy is OLDER than Early and still in Salem just as an FYI. Early was 21 on Opening Day this year.

@SoxProspects

The Red Sox released 20yo RHP Elvis Soto. He hadn't pitched this season due to shoulder fatigue/soreness.

Signed in June 2022 at age 18 for $10k, he reached Salem last year and was briefly ranked in the #SP60, reaching #55 during the 2023 offseason.

How the hell did he age that quickly?

Well they did draft him as a 21 year old....about a whole year ago.

Early is a nice prospect, high floor but not sure there's much of an MLB future there. Kind of the Sox mo with pitching in recent years, I'd expect that profile with a lot of these "senior signs" but Early got slot last year.

You need to be Justin Steele to make it work with such a limited arsenal…

Should the Sox bring up Yorke, put him on the 40 man roster as another right handed option? His defense has to be slightly better than Valdez!

No. Why are people ignoring his previous 2 mediocre seasons in AA over a 25 game sample in AAA?

The Sox are already adding former Padre RHRP Trey Wingenter to the 40 man roster today. Doubtful they add Yorke was well. Possible DFAs to accommodate Wingenter include Speas, Keller, and Uwasawa...

If they add Yorke it'll be in the offseason. They aren't that hard up for 2B right now. He doesn't really fix the issues they have. He's going to need an adjustment period and isn't good defensively. Sox would be better off with Romy/Hamilton at 2B than using Yorke there down the stretch.

They can add Yorke anytime. But a lot of his opportunity rests with Valdez/Hamilton/Romy. These guys are not exactly Craig Biggio. It’s not too hard to envision any or all of them opening the door for Yorke…
