No. Why are people ignoring his previous 2 mediocre seasons in AA over a 25 game sample in AAA?

I'm really high on Yorke, but this.

At least let him have sustained success for the rest of the year and be happy about 2024 going into 2025. Then give him a real shot to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster. That seems fair to me.

Well they did draft him as a 21 year old....about a whole year ago.

Early is a nice prospect, high floor but not sure there's much of an MLB future there. Kind of the Sox mo with pitching in recent years, I'd expect that profile with a lot of these "senior signs" but Early got slot last year.

He’s as much a break out as Meidroth.

Meidroth is feasting on the automated ball/strike system in AAA. His OBP is up almost 60 points from last season. BB's are up, K's are down. Don't know if he could carry that into MLB unless the ABS follows him.

Still wonder why Jamie Westbrook gets the call over Meidroth...

Cespedes was eligible to come off the IL today, but is still not in the Salem lineup. He has not played since being called up from FCL.

Let me do some research and see what's going on....

@BGlobeSports

Yoeilin Cespedes, one of the top prospects in the Red Sox system and in the midst of a standout season, has a broken hamate bone in his left hand that will likely require surgery.

In the latest SP update, Dalvinson Reyes debuted at #43. He received a 450K bonus (largest pitching bonus this year).

16 IP

0.00 ERA

0.62 WHIP

17 K

2 BB

A guy we may want to start keeping an eye on. Yes, DSL numbers don't mean all that much.

Nick Yorke with 2 taters today in Worcester. Dude has to be better than Westbrook!!!!!

Westbrook was at .958 v LHPs before last nights game, and he’s on the 40, but it might be worth adding Yorke. He’s rule 5, this winter.

The top 4 seems pretty clear cut right now - I'd put Mayer #1 still ... but if Campbell can really settle in at CF things get very interesting. I mean the hot streak has lasted half a season now.

@SoxProspects

Chansol Lee made his FCL Red Sox debut today working a scoreless first inning. The 18-year-old Korean righty was signed for a $300,000 bonus in July 2023.

Kavadas went 3 for 5 tonight with a tater and 7 RBI’s

Yorke 2 for 3 with 2 walks. Got to be better than Westbrook or Gonzalez

Why is Yorke better than Valdez?

They both suck on D, and Valdez was hitting over.970 for a pretty long stretch.

Woo still in action, but Kavadas is 3-4 with a tater. His OPS is over 1.000.

Lugo has 2 hits with a tater, too.

Joely and I Campbell with bad outings.

I am sorry I thought I typed Gonzalez and Westbrook. My bad!!

But why replace Westbrook with Yorke not EValdez?

Plus you have to DFA someone to add Yorke to the 40.

I’d rather call up Mayer at SS than Yorke at2B, as well, if I’m to add an IFer to the 40 for the sake of a 26 man roster swap out.

IMO, trading prospects guideline should look like this:

(Can add lower level prospects in package)

For #1 SP with 3.5 yrs of control:

1 from Anthony, Mayer, Keel (maybe KCampbell and Cespedes)

For #1 SP with 2.5 yrs of control:

1 from KC, Cespedes and maybe Bleis.

Rentals: anyone below #6 with the right return.

Yorke is better than Valdez on D. Valdez is proven to be able to hit RHB at MLB level. We don't know what Yorke would hit in MLB. I think they had hoped for a Valdez/Yorke platoon at one point, but it took Yorke too long to progress.

Sox drafted Braden Montgomery OF (switch hitter, power bat, big arm) and Payton Tole LHP (low 90's FB with lots of whiffage, average secondary stuff, big hoss type).

FWIW, Ian and Chris of SoxProspects said they'd grade Montgomery in the Bleis/Campbell tier and Montgomery just after Elmer Rodriguez.

Roman Anthony won the Future Skills competition (scoring 91% of his points in the "swing for the fences" portion). Kyle Teel hit two doubles in the actual game.
