It's getting to the point, if we haven't already reached it, where any loss can be viewed as the final nail.

Until they win again and some people get their hopes up for some reason.

It's over! There's no Morgan Magic. There's no Rocktober.

I'm not doubting this, but I am not out of hope for Coramagic, just yet.

I'm close as close can be.

23 games to play, it is getting late . 5 games back of Toronto , 4.5 back of Texas Rangers. If either of those 2 go .500 for the rest of the way , Red Sox need to be 14-9 minimum . They have been 4-7 over last 11 games .

8 of the 23 are vs Rays & Orioles , including tonight's. 6 other games are the Rangers and Jays. So 14 of 23 are vs. the teams in front of the Sox. It's nice to think it could happen mathematically , just not very high likelihood. They could win them all too.

I'm guessing the magic number elimination occurs September 20th, after the last Rangers game.

Jansen definitely won't be available tonight and the way Cora has used Martin, who has pitched in 2 straight games, he also may not be available tonight. Best case scenario is Pivetta goes 6. Worst case, anything less than 6.

Another best case would be Glasnow having an off night.

Having a clown for a HP chUMPIRE last night shouldn't have been surprising. The game is being played in a circus tent. I'm pretty sure there will be another clown calling balls and strikes tonight.

Raley crashes into the wall in RF. Apparently can't play Right either. Does he have any idea where he is in the OF?

The real life Bump Bailey.

Pivetta is given a lead and gives it right back in the bottom of the inning. Cardinal sin. Grooved that pitch to Lowe. Lowes 3rd homer off Pivetta in 16 ABs. Try something different Nick.

In Glasnow's last 5 starts he has pitched 32 innings giving up 10 earned runs and 22 hits. The SOX have no one close to that and probably won't for many years. After Tampa has used up Glasnow, Bloom will be waiting to pounce. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER
