Carlos Rodon gave up 5 runs in 2.2 and got hurt again and now has a 7.33 ERA on season. At least we didn’t give that Dipshit a long term contract like a certain team

Very small point in a 11-1 beatdown but in 5 innings the Sox failed to score from leadoff doubles, 2 on, bases loaded . The bats are about to go 9 games scoring 3 runs or less, except for last night's meaningless 4 spot and a 6 run win.

This is NO WAY compared to the 1978 team, and nor is the situation.

Yup. That team had guts. People forget that 78 team fell 3 1/2 games back with 14 games to go. They cut it to 1 game out with 8 games to go; they proceeded to win all 8, and it almost wasn’t enough as the Yankees won every day for a week until the last day of the season when Cleveland beat them and the Sox finally caught them.

Plus it was all or nothing. No wildcard.

That 1978 team had a lot of talent too. Unlike this team.

Cora throwing the white flag

Unless Bloom is fired, I don’t see Cora back next season. I think he’s had it with Chaim and having to go out everyday to reporters and try to put lipstick on this pig.

Don't tell me what I feel.

Both represented losing hope, to me. It's not a comp of the team talent levels.

You and the majority of Sox Nation probably feel otherwise. Enjoy your gloating and celebration of losing.

I’m telling you how I feel. Everyone is entitled to his, or her opinion.

Kiermaier is annoying

He also has been available a couple of times but the Sox chose to go with a spent JBJr. No offense JBJ, but if you could hit you'd still be there

But first, they had to lose the play-in game in excruciating fashion to B.F. Dent with Yaz popping out to finish it off vs Gossage

I’ve been saying that for 2 years now. To say Cora is frustrated with Bloom for what he has given him to manage I think would be an understatement. Cora is probably thinking it wasn’t like this when he was hired in 2018.

Kiermaier would’ve gotten the JBJ treatment. He’s a glove first guy who is extremely streaky at the plate.

the real question is where does Bloom find all these clowns?
In all honesty and serious intent, how do these Llovera types get paid over $700,000 a season for having literally no ability.

I’m in a dynasty league with my friends and literally anyone worth a s*** is owned. Like the best free agents are guys like Patrick Corbin. I watched Davis Schneider play on Friday and just grabbed him because why not.. this guy better not just be some bum who only kills the Red Sox s***** pitchers Edited by Jasonbay44

I described how they battled just to get to the playoff game.

Even that game was a microcosm of the season. Sox led early. Yanks a seemingly insurmountable 5-2 lead with 2 innings left. Sox battle back, getting 2 runs off of Goose Gossage in the 8th. Piniella makes a stop on Remy base hit in the 9th that Lou never saw until it bounced into his glove (it’s an easy triple if that doesn’t happen) and the Yanks hold on.

Unanswerable question----why can't the Red Sox hitters fly the ball the extra 3-5 feet that would convert flyballs to wallballs or better ? So many warning track shots

I remember it well, and was trying to listen on a radio on the USS JFK that wasn’t coming in very well.

Did they battle or just find yet another way to lose at the end ? That was the total history from 1919 to 2004. Like the '78 game , it was both , but always ended the same. Like 2023 is heading, wait until next year.

Nick Robertson? No idea who that is

Came from the Dodgers in the infamous ( No, not Mookie), trade for Kike. Another guy came over also, but he isn't quite ready yet

Posted
Robertson, like many of his peers, thinks there are only 2 outs to an inning. He got those on about 6 pitches, but then collapsed under the pressure of the third out needed.

Verdugo with 3 hits in a meaningless effort . DP'ed when he could have made a difference with the bases loaded early in the game.
