Definitely our loss.

I could be persuaded to make more appearances on gamethreads for the nominal fee of a babysitter.

Your fan club object of adulation will reach a fork in the road by end of this season. Does he continue to mature and become a slugging (.250/.800/25/90rbi) mainstay at 1B or does he take the road more travelled and follow Middlebrooks, Lavarnway, Chavis, Dalbec into the oblivion of AAAA ? For the team's sake, I hope the former not latter, or did I get that backwards ?

In defense of posters here.

We recognized how bad Kluber was before Cora.

Posters recognized Pivetta has been bad for over a year. Something Cora did not see.

Finally Cora was forced to admit Kike was not a shortstop.

I'd say that is three major f*** ups that destroyed early part of the season.

Yes keep kissing his ass.

Main difference between Casas and the HOF of mediocrity you mentioned there is that Casas can actually take a pitch, something none of those guys could actually do. Even at his worst, he's useful because he'll work the count and put himself in position to succeed.

Let me be frank. I don't like Casas one bit. Too heavy and too slow. This just about guarantees he will be successful.

Doesn't the FO build the roster though? It doesn't matter what he recognizes, much less what posters on an internet forum recognize, if that's the roster he's handed.

And the "kiss his ass" comment is uncalled for. You have too thin a skin to throw insults around

Yet again, Cora dead on right and the Talksoxers clueless.

Yes, talking out white hot Duran so that Verdugo could clean up!! Such the obvious plan!

True, I was concerned on Dugo's triple that Refsnyder from first would be running up Triton's back as he neared the plate. Wong ( I think) was already sitting in the dugout.

In hindsight a play worked out with Duran out.... but has anyone heard the actual reason Duran was taken out of the game- I haven't been able to watch it real close tonight.

I’m going to have to defend Cora somewhat.

1. It’s a safe bet Cora knew Kluber was bad, but it’s not like he had tons of options and the Sox were/still are in no position to jettison pitching depth.

2. Again, not much depth. And really, someone has to start these games. Paxton didn’t pitch for a while to start the year, and throwing Crawford/Bello/Whitlock etc all into starting roles and expecting 150 IP from each was a recipe for disaster.

3. I’d like to defend Cora here. I get giving Kike a chance. But that he kept trotting Kike out at shortstop long after Rotoworld said the experiment was over just didn’t say much. Sorry, but no MLB manager ever should get out-managed by Rotoworld…

Not to mention the alleged Cora-Bloom friction where Cora gets satisfaction from seeing obvious weak players procured by Bloom fail in the field. If that is actually true , Cora selling out the fanbase and his players. It may not be true but like many theories it may eminate from leaks and side comments from those who do know.

Only a guess, but the analytics vs a LH reliever brought in to face Duran suggested moving to Refsnyder. Remember it was 2 outs, 2 on and Duran may have been too excited to take the walk

Looks like Devers feels like his only way to contribute is a HR.

Devers hasn’t shown much lately, but the pressure isn’t on right now. The Sox don’t need him to hit on nights everyone is hitting; they need him to hit on night when no one is…

Because REF is hitting around .350 against LH's and Duran is way below that.

Devers and Yoshida have left about 100 men on base tonight.

I’m letting it go some they’re up by 6 runs with 6 outs to go…

Looks like it won't matter, but that is a ridiculous number of K's and a DP with RISP from the middle of the batting order. But as always , when the bottom 3 of the order ( Casas, Wong, Reyes) participate ( currently 5-10) good things happen. Duran and Dugo doing their best helped too. They went 5 for 7 BUT neither scored a run, telling you sharpies something just as obvious to the eye testers. Technically, Ref batting for Duran in an oft questioned move by AC or the analytics guy did score a run on Dugo's triple.

You don't have them both on your fantasy team like I do. I need those RBIs!!!!

I have Devers in one league, just not the TalkSox league…

Casas up to .216. If he can get to .235 by the all-star break I think he has a chance to hit about .260 which would be huge for him. He's going to hit at least 20 homers as long as he gets the PT.
