Ironic point about eye test as an evaluation technique ..... if you saw Devers in many of his AB's you would wonder why he was on the roster. That 1st inning AB was one.

He is a funny technique guy for sure.

Lead-off double that doesn't score. We've been exposed to that the last couple of years.

Yeah the Red Sox have mastered how not score after a lead off double in recent times

I went to a Red Sox / Twins game at that park quite a few years ago. Bought nose bleed seats as income was much more limited at that time in my life and my family was 5 of us. It was my boys first professional baseball game. The cheap seats are extremely steep there... feel like you are hanging off the side of a wall. Very blessed I can afford better seats when i go to games at this point in my life.

5 starting position players with OPS's above .800 , as well as their BA's ranging from .290 to .333. Duran swinging and hitting well tonight. Now need some RBI's

If Devers was actually a hitter, he would have about 90 rbi's so far. A young kid who tries to do way too much when a single or a fly ball could change the game Edited by vegasbob

Devers looks worse tonight than when he came first came up. I mean completely lost at the plate. First pitch was right down the middle, which he disdained to swing at. Instead, for strike three he swung at a pitch that bounced in front of the plate.

Yoshi doesn't offer at a pitch 2" outside but K's on a pitch that should have hit his foot. Thanks to Adam Duvall's patience, Paxton has a run to work with.

Wishing I could be there for this series. Minneapolis is one of my favorite cities

It’s a beautiful city. I believe Minneapolis has the most square miles of park per square mile of city of any major US city.

Meanwhile the Sox continue to have no plate discipline. Devers struck out on balls way out of the zone. So did Yoshida. Hard to win that way.

Actually compared to other high priced spreads in MLB this season, Devers is doing much better offensively overall than most of them. Soto, Correa, Machado, and the list goes on.

Acuna. jr, imho, is the best everyday player in MLB. Well, I forgot about Ohtani and Judge. It's close.

Meanwhile, Paxton is once again pitching very effectively through 3 innings. Get this man some more run support. Without Sale nor Houck, he is currently the man along with Bello.

No question his production is way up there, but also are his missed opportunities to run away form his peers with an MVP season. Oh , I forgot Shohei Ohtani is continually pricing himself further and further out of the baseball market. He doesn't speak English hardly at all, or he could earn more from advertising deals and endorsements. I think he makes up for it in Japan.

I'm sure you're right. But the Sox aren't paying any of those guys. They are paying Devers a ton of money.
