I wouldn't minimize the importance of that comeback to making this team interesting. Crap pitching early but runs scored late. Mind you a dropped pop fly to left with 2 outs made it possible but Duvall made them pay

Whitlock, Bello and Paxton all have rehab starts next week. Hopefully they can provide some help.

 

If Bello and Paxton can join the rotation, they bump Crawford and Houck back. I assume Whitlock could as well but who else gets bumped? Pivetta? Or does Whitlock join Houck, Jansen, Martin, Winckowski, and Bleier in the bullpen?

really felt good to win one like this instead of losing which was our pattern, there's confidence now, if we can get pitching straightened out we could be interesting,i think sale will be ok if he doesn't pull something, hasn't done meaningful pitching in 3 years, give him support

I suppose they could jerk Whitlock back to the pen, but I wish they just give him a full season as nothing but a starter.

 

My choice of 5 man rotation:

 

1. Sale

2. Whitlock

3. Kluber

4. Bello

5. Pivetta

6. Paxton (Mata)

 

If all are ever healthy, at the same time, God help us, I'd piggy back Paxton and Bello, or see if Paxton can fill a long relief role.

 

Since Whitlock, Bello and Paxton all seem very close to being ready, and nobody gets hurt in the next 1-2 weeks, we may just keep Bello in AAA to limit his innings total, so he can help later in the year.

 

To me, he is clearly one of our best 5 SP'ers, so he should start, when ready to start.
