IMO, we should have our likely OBP leader bat 1 to 3 and not 4th.

I wonder, if we will keep Dugo batting first vs a lefty, or will they move Kike or Arroyo to #1

I believe the interesting thing about this season will be how certain individuals perform. I don't see the SOX making the PO's, but I do see some players having very good seasons.

Devers should have his best season so far this year.

One could say any Sox player in their prime or nearing it might or could have a "career year" in 2023, especially lefty hitter normally hurt by the shift.

Pre-prime:

Houck, Crawford, Wink

Casas, Devers

Prime:

Pivetta, Schreiber, Kelly

Yoshida, Kike, Arroyo, McGuire, Wong, Refsnyder, Chang, Tapia

Post:

Sale, Kluber, Martin, Jansen, Brasier, Bleier

Turner, Duvall

I think Kluber will throw a no-hitter; he's that good.:)

28 pitches, 14 strikes in the first. Plus the dinger of course. Can one stinking half inning set the pattern for whole season?

Homer doesn’t bother me, especially a solo shot.

The two walks do bother me.

The homer was because he fell down 2-0 though. He has no control

Someone please tell yook to STFU! It's not just that he has nothing to contribute, he uses up way too much air getting that aacross.

Did the sound die for everyone else or just MLb.tv?

When the sound died, that was the best audio of the day.

You know sometimes when you get older you lose a little on your fastball so then you see you have to rely on other pitches because a fast ball that isn't fast might be hit but then if as a hitter you're not looking for it it might be easier to hit and then locaation is the key you need to keep in in a good spot because pitches down the middle are easier but if you're a hitter you might wan tto take that unless you get fooled which is important so as a pitcher you have to get other pitches to keep hitters from locking in and it's best to throw strikes because if you don't you might walk someone which is bad unless you want to do it intentionally so then you see you try to throw that breaking ball just off the plate but not in so far that the guy can hit it but if it's too far outside it might be a ball and with the pitch clock you can't afford to throw too many of them so it's best to work on a variety of pitches like not just the fastball because you know sometimes when you get older you lose a little on your fastball so then you see you have to rely on other pitches because a fast ball that isn't fast might be hit but then if as a hitter ... Batting practice. Kluber is about to give up the game.

I hope Sale has enjoyed the activities, and taken in the whole scope of things today.

Was anyone here really expecting much from Kluber?

I'm thinking he should end up around the middle of the pack among SP'ers by the end of the season.

The problem is, we likely need him to be a solid #2 or 3, and he's more like a 3/4.

Well, he opened the season. Seems like he is nothing but a No. 4 pitcher these days at best.

BTW these O’s have a very interesting team moving forward.

If Kluber is the SOX #3, then the SOX are in more trouble than I thought.

It’s early but on paper entering the season we are the 5th team in the ALE. ie We are the new O’s.

Centerfielder Duvall, feel free to call off the shortstop on that pop-up, so Kike doesn't have to make a Willie Mays World Series catch.

This has a chance to be the league's worst defensive OF.
