Technically the Dodgers lost Gallo. Also you list Cordero as added by the Orioles but not lost by the Red Sox.

And take out the MiLB players. Every team has those…

Good points.

Should I list losing Cordero under the "add" column?

With Dansby signing with the cubs, Hang’em Chaim is now having to dance a bit for the rest of the offseason.

$177M/7.

I had thought he'd be a good option, if Bogey took $200M/8 and he'd get $140M/6, but with Mayer on the horizon, I guess he never was an option.

It's Andrus or Story with fill in the blank at 2nd.

The minute it was reported that Hang’em Chaim looked into Rojas, who’s contract expires next season, I knew dansby was never an option,

If we were fans of a team that was going to add 8-9 viable big leaguers this winter, we'd maybe advocate for Andrus for SS and Drury for back-up 1B/DH (28 HRs with a deadball)... not to mention two of Eovaldi, Kluber or Wacha for the rotation... but if the market for mid-level starting pitchers is too high for Boston's frozen asshats, then add more relievers like Rogers and Chafin.

Brantley's market price for a legit bat will be prohibitive, but a Conforto flier is appealing to a rebuilding team. Turner's swing is made for Fenway if a third base replacement is needed when Devers is dealt.

I'd rather have someone who can play RF like Conforto over Brantley.

I'd prefer Andrus over a 2B option, but the Sox will likely take the one who accepts a 1 year deal, so maybe Andrus is out of the picture.

I say no to Nate. His contract will be too long and too large, as will others, of course, but I'd go with Kluber. My second choice would be to sign 2 from Fulmer, Rogers and Chaffin and make Houck our #3/4 SP'er. Roll the dice with Sale and Paxton in hopes they can time their IL stints to never coincide. The, assume they both will be good.

1. Sale/Paxton combo

2. Whitlock

3. Houck

4. Bello

5. Pivetta

Drury wouldn’t be a bad depth option. He’s basically Dalbec but with fewer strikeouts.

Not wild about Conforto, especially as a RF at Fenway. But he is one of those guys who rarely went undrafted in fantasy leagues. Greatly prefer Brian Anderson for RF at Fenway.

Andrus would be nice for defense or Profar for offense to fill up the MI.

Also screw Chafin. Fulmer is the guy you want…

Thought of the morning.

It was argued back here some time ago, but I can’t remember who I had the disagreement with.

That Kike Hernandez was a good extension, and he would have got substantially more if he went to free agency than 10/1 year.

I think this years FA class has proven my point. Kike looks like a steal now.

That was probably Old Red. He thinks anyone who can play multiple positions should be benched…

Ah, another shoutout, but a day late, and a dollar short, For something that was NEVER implied, or NEVER said that was a pretty stupid statement to make in your long list of stupid statements. Remember your guarding the third, and first base line statement? That was a doozy!

Michael Taylor is apparently available via trade. Would you like him in RF, or move Kike to 2B and keep MT in CF?

What are your thoughts of trying to pry Singer from KC- maybe with Taylor in a blockbuster.

Hard to see how we get Singer without losing Mayer or Casas or Bello, so I'm thinking slim to no chance.

Brian Anderson is not a FA, right?

Yes. If only you understood that statement…

Anderson was non-tendered by Miami…

Doesn't move the needle for me. He's JBJ redux.

You don't like Michael A Taylor?

I don’t mind Taylor, but Anderson (OPS+ 97 the past 3 years) isn’t Bradley (OPS+ 61 last 3 years), is a better hitter. Injuries are his bigger issue…

JBJ's OPS+ was 75 before last year.Anderson's O is tumbling like JBJ's was.

If he's that good, we have no chance at getting him.

I do wonder why a bad team would dump him, unless they know more about his health than we do.

I'm tired of hoping injured players have one healthy year, or that they all do, at the same time.

Clearly the goal here is a Reduced Cost Red Sox team. The easiest way to reduce costs while not totally killing your team is build a better defense. Teams pay heavily for pitching. Teams pay heavily for hitting. No one pays heavily for defense.

That’s why the Sox tried to get Jacob Stallings last year and made inquiries into Miguel Rojas this year. They were both elite defenders using DRS as the method of evaluating, and both don’t command a lot of money.

So expect gloves over bats…

The Sox are up on Seth Lugo apparently. Which is good because I prefer they not sign him.

Also,is it just me, or is Lugo getting far, far more press than should be dedicated to a pitcher of his meh caliber?

I'm not saying the Sox won't get him, but I'm hoping for better.

1.11 WHIP and 122 ERA+ since 2018 is not all that bad.

1.22 and 111 the last 2 years, not bad either.

Not bad is a step up for the Sox.

Sox sign Justin turner. Are they planning to move Devers? Otherwise this move doesn't make sense to me

Of course! He's not one of Bloom's guys; he's got to go.

He’ll DH. Weird, I just said his name

So you don't resign JD at $10, but instead, offer a 3 year contract to a 38-year-old washed-up Turner at 13/year.

2/$22M with a opt out after 1.

So, our highest needs were/are SS, SP, Pen, RF and then maybe more pitching and a catcher. We end up spending more than half our spending so far onDH/LF.

I don’t get it. I’d mention head scratching but where did that get me last winter?
