So who will be the closer tonight ??? I actually don't care because I penciled this series in as an 0-3 , so no disappointment no matter what they do. I would like to see Nate get the win though.

Houck.

Whitlock pitched 2 innings yesterday.

Houck seems the obvious choice.

You of little faith. Why did you feel so pessimistic? That's a rhetorical question.

I have noticed that MLB players have really nice gloves, whether it is the Rawlins Trapeze or the Wilson A2000 which has been around for about 200 years

No way these guys were going to compete vs the Astros. All this game ( so far) proves is that it was Vaz who held them back, conforming to Moon's assessment of Red Sox catching .

I'm surprised they can afford them.

I was in sporting goods store recently and looked at some pro level goods. Gloves are $150-$250 and wood bats are around $100+

Impossible, he's the best manager in sox history, ask moon!
a lot of players told Buster Olney they feel unsupportive and it goes back to last year when they didn't get any help, I always said they were flat and not motivated and I'll still say you don't laugh when your guys are getting massacred by 10 runs, Blue Jays changed managers and they are playing with enthusiasm but we have to live with it because JH is going to do nothing

Bring it up with moon.

After all, he's the smartest guy on here and he says cora is the best manager in sox history.

Just ask him

Btw, did Houston ever find a uniform for VAZ? If not, that could nix the trade.

Maybe freakin' chris frail got near it with a pair of scissors....

I guess it’s better to be self proclaimed, then to have no acclaim at all.

when Cora was laughing at the massacre even OB and Eck made a remark about it and they protect their own but it was a low life action, I hated George Steinbrenner he's the reason I became a Sox fan but in reality Cora would have been fired before he left the dugout

And piss poor managing by Cora.

Because he put Cordero in RF instead of JBJ? One has a WAR of -.3 and the other -.4, so I don't see much difference. Why not complain about playing Arroyo at 3b and Bogey at SS because both made errors leading to 2 unearned runs which could have cost the game.

But wait. He also started Duran--the guy who gave up a grand slam home run on a catchable ball to CF--in CF again. Shirley that was a worse move. Of course, Duran batted in all 3 Sox runs with a dinger and a double. Meanwhile, with Plawecki catching (Vazquez having been traded to the Astros), Eovaldi, Schreiber, and Houck were masterful in holding the Astros to 0 earned runs and a win for the Sox.

For you to be right--that Cora is clueless--I think we have to ignore what actually happened in the game. I don't like Cordero either, but at least he did no harm and JBJ came in for him in the 9th. Meanwhile, all the other moves Cora made--and despite those two horrendous errors by Arroyo and Bogey--seemed to work awfully well.

Right, Cora replaced Cordero with Bradley in the 9th. That's usually when defensive replacements are made, not the 7th.

Good pitching, Duran hitting and poor defense. Sox win. Two in a row!

I have whined a lot about the defense this season, but in this case I think those errors by Arroyo and Bogey, even though they resulted in two unearned runs which could have cost the game, were the kind that can happen to good fielders. Arroyo stinks in the outfield, but has been excellent at 3b and SS. Bogey is having his best fielding season ever.

And let's not forget that Arroyo made a great play on that slow roller by Altuve, that Dalbec made some good grabs at 1b, that Arroyo started that very nice DP, etc.

Hey Sherlock! One can catch the ball, and one can’t no matter where you stick Franchy. Duran should have been back to Worcester weeks ago. Yes for once he had a good game with the bad last night, and didn’t get picked off base, or actually caught some fly balls.

So are you saying it's a good thing they stuck with Duran or a bad thing?
