I think you are missing the point.

 

You can pick any three excellent players you want to pick--on this Sox team or from any other team--and this team would still stink. The pitching stinks. The defense stinks. The baserunning stinks. And the hitting is suspect--tonight, for example, the 7th, 8th, and 9th batters all had OPS's below .600.

 

Do you seriously think all Bloom has to do is make up a list of good players he would like to have and they will magically show up on the roster?
