Each L just makes it an unbearable season. Again i keep saying it you can buried yourself early in a mlb season and the 2022 boston red sox are an example of that. Anyway someone needs to get fired for this disaster of a season.

A pathetic home stand this far. This is spiraling quickly into a situation where we will not see meaningful games after June.

You mean May 8th.

They have six guys in their lineup every day who can’t hit. That makes it tough to win no matter how good of pitching they are getting from the starters. Plus the bullpen stinks In the ninth inning. They appear to be done but miracles have happened before.

If I were the hitting coach, I would not be buying a house.

They might just as well bat Bogey, Raffy, and JD 1-2-3.

Oh, Bloom and Henry (who are responsible for this mess and more to come), already have their fall guy in place. You know they won't fire themselves.

9 runs allowed in 28 innings this weekend, and we still get swept. More of an indictment on the offense than the bullpen IMO, not to say that both aren't equally bad

The pen has actually done better than the starter in a lot of games, just not so much recently.

NESN viewers the past month can hardly wait for more of Venable in charge, with his Mad Magazine "What, Me Worry?" grin (sorry, no one in the organization can escape my ire right now, except Matt Strahm).

NESN ratings have not been very good so far this season, and probably going down even more with every loss.

The sox are easy to pitch to outside of Devers, Bogey and JD, as the 6 guys who are not hitting come up in a row after the first inning, through the 5-9 slots in the order then the 1-2 slots.

Six hitters in a row with an average less than .218 and an OPS less than .570 . Just wow

Just finished watching SOX game after DVR'ing it.

A few comments. When JBJ(who can't hit) is sent to the plate to replace a batter who can't hit, please use the term 'pinch-batter' not 'pinch hitter.'

Strahm is the most consistent guy in the BP. Should give him more shots at closing.

Twice today the Red Sox had runners on 2nd with no outs and in both cases they didn't score. This just reflects on how bad this line-up is.

Finally, the word 'pathetic' by itself is descriptive enough, but in some cases that word alone is not enough. In the case of the SOX offense 'beyond pathetic' must be employed.

And the BRUINS have tied the series with 'Canes today with Boston's two best defensemen out with injury and Covid. Nothing pathetic about the Boston hockey team.

Can this team actually finish last in the division? Lol. Seriously 

Depends on how bad the O's are.

Btw, since 2012 the SOX have finished last in their division 4 times. So, this isn't exactly unexplored territory in recent history.

It's actually 3 times and I would not include the 2020 season..

Well, to be objectively accurate it's 4 times. If you don't want to include the shortened Covid season, then that would make it subjective.

Our history has been more about nice starts to seasons with meteoric collapses and not poor starts and great comebacks.

Problem is not the pen it’s the closer. We don’t have one.

Or, the ones we have are being used everywhere else but at closer.

SOP for ML Managers has been to work backwards from the closer. If you have a dependable one, not even a great one, work backwards from your dependable closer. If you don't have one or resist one or two LIKELY SITTING THERE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, the rest of your pen will be a mess with no assigned roles, no belief from the pitchers in the pen that they have any earthly idea how or when they will be used.

If you have two dependable closers or likely dependable closers, now you are fat city. Gee, I wonder what the hell Cora is looking at.....Robles and Barnes?????????

The Sox scored 5 runs in 28 innings.

Twice the White Sox scored 3 runs in the third inning and never looked back.

How is a lack of a closer the issue there?

Also they do win the extra inning game and Robles closes it out if the Sox play proper defense and guard the line…

Well, on the bright side, Houck is proving he's a 1-inning guy and clarifying what his role should be... Edited by Bellhorn04

You still for some reason won’t admit that the lack of a closer has cost the Red Sox games this year. Sat was the latest example, and even though it was just a 1 run lead a good closer should be able to protect that. The fact that the Red Sox don’t want to use one cost them the game. Offense is still the biggest problem, but the lack of a closer is 1B, and they have lost games, because of it. I’ll repeat for the 10th time that offense is the problem, but the closer has been a problem too, and that is on the Bloomer, and the Beard.

Someone on here said Cora was a magician with the bullpen. Well his magic show has been canceled.
