Shitey job, but someone has to do it.

Keuchel(1-3) vs Wacha(3-0)

Hopefully the SOX can get 9 shutout innings from Wacha.

Kike

Story

Devers

Bogey

JD

VAZ

Dugo

Dalbec

Arroyo

Except Wacha's hurting a bit, so we'll see Houck pitch for 2-3 innings. Hill on Covid list, Paxton has a sore elbow, and Sale is decomposing. Have a nice day, mothers

Have Mother's Day games always started this early?

Aside from the obvious Boston marathon early starts, I don’t ever recall a game starting before noon.

Trevor Story is going to have a miserable experience in Boston, becoming a target for fan frustration. Dalbec won't be around long enough to be the boo target , while Story covers for him.

Story was a questionable signing from the beginning. The guy hit extremely well in the thin air of Colorado but not outside of it. Now he’s away from it full time. You don’t give 6 years to a questionable player. Really weird signing

Maybe it would be a good idea for the FO to see if the Dodgers are interested in Story.

While the team is slightly deficient in actual run production, we may be leading in LOB's so that's worth something, right? Apparently Story said something about the Sox cumulatively maybe trying to do a little too much. No, Trevor, you should try doing something, anything productive.

Why was Wacha scratched?

Soreness in his side after a side session Thursday. He may have a history of lat injury; left intercostal to be precise. Now he's been moved to the 15 day IL, so we get Danish back

It was pretty much Bloom's way of proving that the only long-term deals will be to "his" guys, not to those dead-beats like Bogaerts and Devers who were here before him.

I’m gonna start day drinking and get ready for NBA playoffs. This team makes me want to consider hardcore drugs

Getting a good nod going is definitely worth considering on Red Sox game day. Only problem is that there is like 140 more of them left this year. That could be an issue.

This was on another thread a while back, and all was discussed then too, but some just didn’t want to hear it.

This was on another thread a while back, and all was discussed then too, but some just didn’t want to hear it, because they were pointing out that Bogey didn’t hit on the road either, but it was countered with now Story plays all 162 away from Coors.

Actually in the Bloom in Boston v Tampa comparison, at least Tampa is actually fun to watch play. Once you get past Rafi, who do you really look forward to watching on this team?

It took years to build up the Rays system, and it relied and still relies a lot on the farm.

I think expecting Bloom to rebuild the farm in such a short time, where it would be instantly providing ML talent, might be a little unrealistic.

The finding of the "gems in the rough" aspect of the Rays' Way has been pretty hit or miss, so far for Bloom, since joining the Sox, but he did have a few nice hits, including Whitlock (rule 5), Wacha, Hill, Strahm, Schwarber, Iggy, Shaw I, Kike ('21) and a few other that have done okay. The list of misses is just as long, if not longer, including some higher paid misses like Richards, Perez (twice), Stroy (so far), Marwin, Andriese & Diekman.

I think Bloom will be given until 2023, at the earliest to build a highly competitive team. By then, some of the farm help will be making an impact, too.
