You make it sound so simple! :)

It only sounds simple because it is simple. It's the KISS theory, and it often works.

JBJ + Victorino ->Parade

JBJ + Mookie Betts (who can play anyplace and bowl a 300 game between AB's) -> Parade

I think the Sox still have a better chance than most at signing Suzuki, and I think they afford him and big money at Correa. Yup, I said it.

Last year Bradley had his lowest career BABIP despite posting his second highest LD% in his career. That’s not easy to do.

Statistically speaking, I can see the bounce back potential…

I agree. He'll bounce back, but I'm not sure how big the bounce will be. Maybe 85 WRC+?

Lately is a relative term. How about I narrow it for you just watch any series of game between June and september 2021.

JBJ also has a long history of tweaking his swing.

We'll see how our new hitting coach, Peter Fatse, does with him.

Has there been an announcement yet? Last I heard, six teams were still under consideration.

That said, I always expected him to go to the Giants, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he decided to be a Padre. Those NPB guys do seem to like the west coast. And Yu Darvish makes for a much better ambassador than Sawamura…

This is from Asian twitter guys by a Nippon source .....my apologies if this is bunk .United states reports on the matter say he’s still fluid with Dodgers Giants Redsox .If this is a bunk report it’s a great one . Edited by Swiharts Ghost

I would say this However a choice of a west coast team is hardly a shocker ,but I’m kinda pissed off.I can see regression in Verdugo and honestly don’t find him too much of an upgraded player to Andrew B .I would like the team to go after kyle if we keep Verdugo and transition him to full time DH .Yes I’d trade Bobby in this instance and look to Casas sooner than later .Verdugo to me could be delt now or at the break .I would really like to get kris B to play LF and the occasional 3b to give Rafy a breather and also as insurance if Rafy can’t be had on a market equal deal .Verdugo for me is on the block . After meeting with the #Cubs front office and chairman Tom Ricketts on Monday evening, Japanese star Seiya Suzuki has agreed to a 5 year/70 million dollar deal with the Chicago Cubs. #TakeThat

Their interest was large, though.

I've heard they've had a lot of interest!

Yes, they've been one of the most interested teams this offseason. So there's that.

JD Drew money- not counting inflation.

I'm tired of hearing about just "interest."

Very sad!

We need a lot to happen, but some are not all that far-fetched.

Barnes rebounds from his bad last 10 innings of 2021.

Dalbec hits well, all year.

Wacha pitches like he did near the end of 2021.

Hill stays healthy.

Sale pitches for 4 months not 2.

Brasier plays all season.

Verdugo improves like we expected last year.

JBJ rebounds.

Duran nears expectations.

Bogey has a career year.

Vaz returns to near .800 hitting like 2019-2020.

Arroyo stays healthy.

Devers has a career year.

Pivetta continues improving.

Houck and Whitlock grow and pitch more innings.

We don't need anywhere near all these to happen, just maybe half.

I can see the gloom, too, though.

This was a huge miss by the Red Sox. Suzuki could be the next Ohtani and all we had to do was match 5/70.

Instead reports are we could go after the likes of washed up 33 yo Justin Upton who projects to a sub 700 OPS in 2022, OOF. He's so bad he was designated for assignment and of course will clear waivers cos nobody else wants his salary.

Red Sox OF looking shaky right now, not gonna lie. Especially with the black hole known as Jackie Bradley Jr., projected to a .655 OPS, manning one of the starting 9 batting spots. I really have ZERO idea why we traded back for him?

Red Sox need a corner outfielder. Surely Bloom can swing a decent deal before the season starts?

Just becaue Upton is not worth $28M, does not mean not teams want him at the minimum.

He still hits lefties pretty well, which Verdugo and JBJ do not.

.852 career v L

.838 in 2021

.796 in '20- short season

BTW, I was all for going after Suzuki, and that was before I knew he could pitch like Ohtani!
