What does starting Brad Peacock tell you about the rest of the staff, at this point in time, anyway?

As I said in the game thread, it feels like the team is in semi-punt mode.

at this rate of positives, almost all the team will be in a couple of days.

Did they even get vaccinated?

Brad Hand has been DFA’d by Toronto. He might be worth a look.

I always felt that Hand was a little overrated , but it is kind of shocking that they would give up on him at this point. He would be worth a shot. Can't be worse than some of the stiffs we are running out there now.

It might come down to us needing to win 5 or 6 out of our last 6:

3 @ BAL

3 @ WSH

Or 10 or 11 out of out last 14:

3 v BAL

2 v NYM

3 v NYY

What a disaster with Covid on top of the other issues. Some may have lingering effects. Why were only 85% of players vaccinated? These guys should know better.

They drank the horse de-worming kool -aid, instead.

Less than 85%

Of course you’ll get yelled at if you say they should DFA Robles.

I guess they didn't want that chip planted in their brain.

I'm being sarcastic, of course. I'm totally pro-vax. For the kids out there listening (12 and up), for the LOVE OF GOD, GET VACCINATED!

The Astros gave up Abraham Toro, an MLB-ready infielder who can hit to get Graveman. Who was the Sox better offer? Ditto with Bryce Wilson.

And Tuesday evening Abraham Toro hit a grand slam off Kendall Graveman after the flame-throwing righthander loaded the bases:

You guys are hanging tough- just 3.5 off the WC2 slot, but two teams to beat.

Will be sad when this lowly Sox team sweeps the M’s.

Should have been Robles.

Hand has actually been about the same for Toronto than Robles has been for Boston. Hand has a 7.27 ERA, 1.846 WHIP, 1.102 OPSA. Robles has a 7.30 ERA, 2.027 WHIP .950 OPSA. For both pitchers, those numbers are largely carried by 3 outings with their new teams...

Had the Sox not had a hot 3-4 months out of the gate and played to their talent level (ie right now) do you think they’d have been better off long term?

Not really, it's not as if they traded off 1/3 of their farm for Rizzo +

Hey they got a .730 OPS from Rizzo, a .650 OPS from Gallo and an ERA over 6 from Heaney in those deals.

It does make one wonder how they actually got any better...

Stanton went on a tear, Judge continued to hit, Lemahieu went on a tear, Voit went on a tear. What it did was it changed the lineup enough to make it difficult on the pitchers. When you run 4-5 straight hulking RHH in a row, a pitcher can get into a groove. When you mix in LH, RH, tall, small, etc it forces the pitcher to adjust a little and makes the lineup a wee bit more difficult.

Ah yes, their true talent right now is at their bottom, not when they are peaking. Very observant.

If the Yanks play the Sox in the WC, it'd would be absolutely hilarious if the Yanks blew it to such a terrible team!

Why don't hitters just go on a tear for 162 games?
