If there were just one decent player left at each open slot we have, I'd be worried, but there are still many left (except CF, where we may have to trade for one).

Exactly. I'm not sure what all the uproar is about. We knew Sale was a second half candidate at best almost a year ago...

 

Because there were reports that Sale was getting ready to throw off the mound. Then someone speculated that Sale could be back with the team in April. Ownership is trying to quell those unrealistic expectations.

I think I'm more optimistic about Sale than many here, but no way will we push him hard. We may need to focus on making sure he doesn't push himself too hard.

 

Ease him in slowly, later this year, and hope he's ready to go in 2022.
