Sox in 6.

I feel like we’re playing the Yankees again, only w/ more veterans that may play better than we expect. I’m also expecting better performances from both Sale & Price. I’ve follwed both Kershaw & Buehler all year (both on my fantasy team that went 17-3-1 btw). I like Buehler a lot but he’s young, Kershaw can pitch very pedestrian at times. Both Kershaw & Ryu don’t strike out many hitters so I think we see the Sox put a lot of balls in play. We stay away from hitting into twin killings -should be fine. Sox in 6 for me as well.

I just looked at my phone and saw a message that Pomeranz is replacing Workman on the WS roster, and just reading that melted my eyes and face like the Nazis at the end of Indiana Jones.

At least you weren’t tied to a poll at the time.

You weren’t tied to a poll were you?

I thought Wright was replacing Workman?

If Wright was not ready, I'd have chosen Poyner, but I hope we never have to go that deep, unless it's in a mop-up role as we are up 14-0 in the 7th.

I guess not. The Red Seat podcast eluded to that Wright was going to play. Meh Pom it is then.

Pomeranz has sucked all year. Its unbelievable that he has taken a roster spot from a more deserving player. Furthermore, he hasn't pitched in what-a month? Very very bad decision.

The only rational I have for this one is that:

- Wright is not after all ready or Cora does not think so

- Pom must have impressed somebody in these BP sessions he has been throwing. Something like that big breaking Curveball has come around a bit and Cora is hoping that against another wall bashing, fence crashing team he can get some Bugs Bunny swings out of them.

God help him if he hangs that thing though.

I think Pom will get as much playing time as Blake Swihart has gotten thus far.

Then why even have Pomeranz on the roster? I have a bad feeling about him...I think he will cost us a game.

Because he’s a warm body. Somebody needs to keep the BP kerosene heater going. I’ve never put too much reliance on the last 2-3 spots on any roster. But of course we’re playing against Dave Roberts. So I’ll bite my tongue here a little.

Baseball is a strange and unpredictable game. Because I have already accounted for one loss from Pomeranz its likely that he will win us a game instead.

Now that i think about it, Bellinger and Pederson both take Bugs Bunny swings at Curves. Pederson tends to be overanxious. But if its Pom v Bellinger even though he actually looks worse swinging at Curves I will be viewing that AB through the bottom of a glass of bourbon. At any rate, maybe Cora has specific LH batters in mind if anybody for Pom.

I feel we are a better team than the dodgers. Hope we can prove it on the field.

Same here. 108 wins, The Yankees and Astros already under our belt.. now the Dodgers..

Boy if ever a team deserves to win a World Series it's this one, but that doesn't mean a thing.

The best team on the field for the next handful of games will be champions.. Hoping

that the Red Sox will continue to do what they have done all year, and that is FIND WAYS TO WIN!

I do not care how they do it, who gets the big hit or strikeout. Just win baby!

I just find it a little weird and annoying quite honestly. You do spend a lot of time here. How much time do you spend on LAD forum? Ya’ know, that team you hate for 50 years but are all of a sudden rooting for.

Again, I don't hate (and question the priorities of a fan who derives hate from a pastoral pastime).

I probably don't hold a grudge against the Dodgers for the 1965 World Series any more than I hold a grudge against the Red Sox for overtaking my Minnesota Twins on the final two days of the 1967 season en route to the American League pennant.

My only trip to Fenway Park (2010) was more recent than my last trip to Dodger Stadium for the 2009 home opener. I have not returned to Los Angeles since although each year I make a few trips to San Diego. I was last in Boston two years ago for the Head of the Charles Regatta.

I did not see the Dodgers or Red Sox (or any other team) play in Seattle this year. The Red Sox open the 2019 season in Seattle and I will join friends for a game or two.

In other words, it's a close call on my allegiances. I simply hope to see some exciting baseball.

I follow the Red Sox the way a person studies a second language. In the process I learn more about my native tongue and language in general.

I apologize to the extent that I have annoyed anyone. That is not my intention.

Warm regards.

Well said.

Keep finding ways!

I like to think I’m above boring, pedantic insults.

I’m not. Not even close. But I still like to think I am...

Don't we all!

It started in the Spring. 20-9 in spring training. Then the Sox won 17 of the first 19 out of the gate. Dominated. It continued all season. The best team in baseball. Won the A.L. East going away. Then they took down the vaunted Yankees in four games . Next they dethroned the champion Astros in five. Now , just one more challenge remains . The N.L. champion Dodgers. No let down now. Beat L.A. , then pop the champagne ,hang another banner and board the duck boats. Go Sox.

Yes!!! It is all about putting another banner up there! No let-up. This thread may need to turn into a Red Sox Hype thread as it should!

I DON'T CARE WHO THE PLAYERS ARE. I DON'T CARE WHO THE COACHES ARE. I DON'T CARE WHO THE OWNER IS. I DON'T CARE WHO PITCHES, FIELDS OR HITS WHEN. HELL, I DON'T CARE IF THEY CHANGE THEIR PRACTICE FACILITIES.

PUT UP ANOTHER WORLD SERIES CHAMPION FLAG AT FENWAY GODDAMNIT!

RINGS! RINGS!! RINGS!!! JUST WIN BABY!!!!!

Absolutely, but if no one used the boring, pedantic insults, they wouldn't be boring and pedantic...

My guess is that a well rested Pomeranz has looked impressive in his workouts , while Wright has struggled a bit. Just a guess. Anyway , a lefty reliever was not needed against the Yankees and Astros, but might play a role against the Dodgers.

We're playing the Dodgers, a team that routinely turns utility infielders into All Stars and post-season heroes, like Justin Turner, Chris Taylor, Jamey Carroll, Max Muncy and Keke Hernandez. The last players on their roster are sometimes the scariest...

Very possible, as they will have Bellinger, Pederson and Muncy. I believe these are their most dangerous lefty hitters...
