I would go with Devers at 3rd and Holt at 2nd vs the Astros' RH Morton.

I'm sure that's what Cora will do.

He's not going to change horses midstream.

I am just really happy for JBJ, people continuously bitch about him nonstop, both on this site and in the Boston Media, and he has had the two biggest hits of this series so far. Now if only my boy David Price could pitch a dominant playoff game...

He may need 3 straight great starts to shut everyone up.

I'm all in.

Eovaldi with a great effort tonight. Bradley has carried the offense 2 games in a row. JimEd called that one. He said that Bradley just needs to get hot for about a week or so and he can carry us. Now we need Betts and JD to get going and really supercharge the offense.

He was really good today. I'm not a big Joe West fan, but he deserves props for a very well umpired game today. He was very consistent.

Joe CAN be a really good umpire when he decides to let the game be the featured attraction and not himself. Unfortunately, he doesn't always do that.

So far our bullpen has been pretty good. It was maligned before the playoffs, and I can’t say I wasn’t one that wasn’t talking bad about it. It’s only 3 games in this series so we’ll see how it goes from here.

Houston is going to come out with a lot of energy tomorrow and we have to be ready to match it. Betts, Benny, and JD need to hit better and then we’ll be clicking. A lot of our runs have come from the bottom half of the lineup crazy enough. JBJ has really won two games for us. I happy for JBJ. Go Sox!

I'm not sure I've ever seen Bregman swing at a ball.

The guy is tough as nails on offense and defense.

Astros still have nobody hitting behind him and the Sox have been allowed to either pitch around him completely or pitch to him such that he can't put up a big number with one swing of the bat with somebody on ahead of him. There are short batting orders and then there are SHORT batting orders. The Astros have been pretty feeble after Springer, Altuve, Bregman and now Altuve is limping around.

Their biggest weakness compared to last year has been how many holes this batting order has past Bregman. Correa is not getting it done. Gurriel is not getting it done. I really thought AJ would move Gonzalez up in the order and move Gurriel down, maybe even try to see if Correa can do more than he has done. If those guys continue to fail behind Breg the Sox are never going to feel compelled to come after him at the plate.

The guy is a fabulous ballplayer, keeping the Astros in this game with his sensational fielding when he has been hampered at the plate. AJ has to do something and I suspect he has to try to do it for the Wednesday game. This park is a shoebox and you are not going to win games even in the post season with 2 runs a game. Altuve limping around may well be the straw that breaks the camels back. I don't see Porcello caving on Wednesday. Astros are going to have come out and beat him.

Right now Game 5 and Sale become a pretty interesting topic if the Sox can win game 4. Game 5 oddly enough might be the best shot the Astros have of extending the series back to Fenway.

If Sox win tomo is ovahh.

After a 3-1, and if the Astros come back in dramatic fashion to play game seven, guess who is going to start for them —Keuchel who was hell of lucky today.

Last time in Houston Porcello pitched a gem.

On the other hand, we destroyed Morton in Houston last time. He earned 6 runs.

Also, Porcello has been pitching in CY mode this PO, and Morton has not been sharp lately.

I fully expect a win tomorrow. Their line up is full of black holes and injuries right now.

Also we have the momentum!

Go Sox!

Hope you’re right. Have to jump on them early. Have a chance to take a stranglehold of the series.

I believe I have now watched the JBJ grand slam 25 times, it was the first thing I thought of when I woke up. Speaking of that the wife could not hang, thinks baseball is boring, so she drifted off. Until that bomb, that woke her ass up. Well I did anyway.

I still can't believe this bullpen. Barnes scares the crap out of me but he continues to be solid. We have survived multiple Joe Kelly sightings. I was convinced this would be their downfall and it could very well still happen, but not yet.

Last night the boys in the booth begrudgingly had to give some credit to the Red Sox. it is clear where their unbiased sentiments lie but I think that they do realize that our guys aren't bad.

I've now watched the supposed catch of Pearce's shot off the wall in left a few times now as well. Kind of proof that replay doesn't get it right all of the time either I guess. Would have been a shame if the better team had not won that game with a blown replay call.

I actually think he made that catch.

As posted before the hero of the night was Nathan Eovaldi. Another big performance in a big spot, hear that David Price? But like with Kimbrell at times I think Eovaldi goes away from his fastball too much. If I threw 101 I think I'd take advantage of that more often.

The pen did pretty good for 4 games vs the Yanks, so it's 7 now.

I thought he caught it and his glove hit the wall. It was hard to tell.

I can't believe the things I said about JBJ earlier in the season. Go JBJ!

Meh. We all did, except for moonslav.

********. There were others who stayed sensible too. :)

Very true, but many were saying they love JBJ even if he hits .600. There weren't many who had faith in his offense.

I went overboard with my hopes that he might end up near .800, but I felt he could stay consistent and have that 7-10 day red hot streak he was known for in the 3 straight seasons before 2017.

Maybe he's having that streak now, when it counts!

GO JBJ!

JBJ has always been my favorite Sox player

Me too, Moon. Well, not always, but for some years now. When I was younger, my favorite was Jim Ed, as you might infer from my avatar. JBJ checks the South Carolina box (the state where I was born) by having attended college in SC, which is not quite as good as Jim Ed actually being from SC, but still. And defense trumps offense for me personally, so watching JBJ gliding around CF and making the impossible look routine is about as good as it gets. Love to see him doing well. May he have many more ABs with the sacks packed this postseason!

Need at least 1 more win in Houston. Don't want to go back to Boston, in a Game 6 and Price saving the season. Last 2 Years Morton is better against Left Handed Batters, then RH Batters. Before he started throwing Smoke, Lefties had better success. Houston Coaching, has changed his style. Need this game.

Is it time to revive the "Should JBJ be traded?" thread? :D

hahahaha. you know it will happen brother. probably if he goes 0-4 tonight.....

he 100% caught it. it was the glove hitting the tin that made the loud sound. in realtime i thought it was a hit (because of the sound). in replay it was obvious it was a catch.

umpires did a good job last night.

Last might on the Radio, the guys said Sox hit Osuna good, real good, even when he was in Toronto. Hinch made a mistake, don't think it will happen again. You got to bury these guys, they wont be quitting. Edited by OH FOY!

Easy to second-guess, but I don't think it was a great move by Hinch leaving Osuna in for 27 pitches.

No second guess, just told you what the Radio guys said. Only thing I knew was he was suspended. They gave me that info that the Sox hit him hard, according to them. Only 2nd guess I have why leave him in after he hit Moreland, and a Lefty Bat coming up. Especially after he just 2 in a row, both from the Left Side.

He put himself in a corner when he went on record the other day that he would use his closer for 6 outs in a game they were losing by 1 or 2 runs. he was trying to take a dig at Cora for not using Kimbrel in game 1 and it bit him in the ass. love it.
