You are mistaken:

On an unrelated matter, would the Red Sox be interested in four years of Seattle closer Edwin Diaz, as a replacement for Craig Kimbrel, and/or four or five reasonably priced years of Seattle shortstop Jean Segura, as a Dustin Pedroia replacement and a hedge against the potential departure of Xander Bogaerts to free agency following the 2019 season?

Whom would the Red Sox be willing to trade for either All Star?

Well, you have your choice from Bobby Dalbec or Michael Chavis...

Is WOPR going to be part of your resume?

You mean WAPM/UAPM? I’ve certainly thought about including. Links to BDC would certainly have been helpful...

I guess I combined the two.

I remember your WAFL (Wins Above Felipe Lopez). Yes, it's kind of sick the things I remember.

Wow. Even I forgot about that incredibly specific and mildly useful statistic...

From Tuesday's FanGraphs chat with columnist Kiley McDaniel:

2:57

Kimbrel Questioner: What value would it take to aquire Edwin Diaz? Groome + Chavis? Asking for a friend.

2:57

Kiley McDaniel: Way more than that. For reference, Archer and Diaz were pretty close on the trade value list, both just missing it.

I question whether Jay Groome andf Michael Chavis would be enough to land two years of Seattle reliever Alex Colome, who led the league in saves only a year ago.

And was acquired along with3 months of Denard Span's contract by the Mariners for two prospects outside of their top 30. How much did Colome improve since last June?

Alex Colome posted an ERA of 2.53 and an ERA+ of 162 in 46.1 innings with the Seattle Mariners.

As a point of reference, Craig Kimbrel this season posted an ERA of 2.74 and an ERA+ of 160 in 62.1 innings with the Red Sox.

And therefore can be acquired for two middling prospects if the Sox also take a player making about $5-6mill for one season along with him, right? Alex Colome and Erasmo Ramirez for Mike Sharwyn and Chase Shugart sound about right?

I suspect that won't get it done.

FWIW, righthander Andrew Moore, whom Seattle dealt to Tampa Bay in the Colome/Span trade, had lost his prospect status after making nine MLB starts in 2017.

I am so putting an application in for that..

Ha. You are the ultimate geek.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Sheldon Cooper is my hero.

Looks like we need to win the ALCS without much reliance on Chris Sale. Just wonder if the stomach problem was a virus, bacterial (food poisoning) or ulcers ? In any case, he's not likely to be delivering an 8 inning shutout gem any time soon. Maybe in WS.

We can team up here. What topic should we do the analysis on? I need something revolutionary, like DIPS was.

And I don't think Wins Above Felipe Lopez is going to cut it here...

LOL Did you read the qualifications for the job? As much as I like to think that I'm a stat geek, I can't hold a candle to the Mitchel Lichtmans and the Dave Camerons of the world.

I should take the Yankees job though. I could really mess them up.

Please, you people can't even compete in a Fantasy league. We don't need you driving us to the bottom of the division.

If we're using fantasy logic, then I should be the favorite for manager. Never finished below the top 5

It's an analytics position. Your fantasy record gives you the edge imo.

I'm also an analytics minor.

Bring it on.

I’ve developed a projection system that works, unlike Steamer and PECOTA...

Cameron writes about stats, but does he develop them?

Not sure whether he develops stats, but he definitely does statistical research and statistical studies.

If you meet the qualifications for the job, then

1. I bow to you, Notin, the Great.

2. You should definitely apply! Once you get the job, you can hire me a your right hand woman.

I only use one stat. How many runners' bases do you advance including yourself divided by plate appearance.
