He just gave up his first homer of the year. Apparently he can't pitch the 8th either.

I'll give Brasier a pass on the HR. He was throwing almost exclusively FB's challenging them to hit it. One guy did.

I still think he's going to miss a couple starts. That's going to swell up, and there's no sense pushing it.

I will take missing a couple starts over something worse.

Up 14-6, Pom starts the 9th with a 10 pitch walk. You cannot make this stuff up. Does he get a ring and a check ( rhetorical question) ?

Swihart had 2 hits in the 7th. Anyone know if that goes down as a pair of pinch hits or is it limited to the first one?
You can't pinch hit for yourself.

The short sweep of Miami was expected but if the White Sox take 2 of 3 from NYY that is a bigger boost for us, especially since we now have to go up against those Sox. Let's get out of August with another series win, please

Unless the radar gun is off, that 93 was the fastest pitch for POM this season.

Pom did finish quickly after the BB with a K and a DP. Good for him.

Yeah, I know. Just curious how that would be considered in, say, Baseball Reference. They do splits on everything, including by position. But the second time up, Swihart didn't have a position yet since he hadn't taken the field.

I suppose if I remember, I could look tomorrow at Swiahrts splits and see what they list.

Pale Hose took 2 of 3 from the Carmines (channeling my inner Hawk here) earlier this year.

I'll bet getting a second hit in the same inning as one pinch hit is a very rare occurence in BB.

Yankee announcers are talking about the big inning and that Benintendi made all 3 outs. LOL!! It will take him a while to live that down.

Yeah so what? Beni’s first out came from a sacrifice bunt and he moved the runner over to 3B. It’s what you’re supposed to do there, not that they’d know that. And btw, it worked.

Don't take the White Sox lightly. They are playing good ball lately, the young kids are starting to get it. Young staff, and if this kid Eloy Jimenez hits like they project, may have a future star. We might get to see him this weekend.

They have improved in both Pitching and hitting after the AS Break. Their record is 20-18 after AS Break, little steps when you have a young team.

Even though Beni was responsible for all 3 outs, he only had one official at bat. So, the SOX had 11 hits out of 12 official at bats that inning.

...and no walks that I remember. 11 runs in an inning with no BBs. Maybe a first?

Yes, the runner moved to third might not have scored from second on Holt's triple.

I hate sac bunts 99.9% of the time.

That cris-crossed my mind as well last night. Usually with that type of inning a team walks a ton. I don’t think there was one BB.

So, you think it’s smart game stategy to play for the ole’ pinch hit triple?

I generally hate bunt sacs. I guess, if you have a super weak hitter, who knows how to bunt, and the tying runner at 1B with no outs, maybe.
