I am loving what I'm seeing from Cora, and no matter how subtle it is, I'm seeing more fire and desire in this team.

I'd still like to see Bogey bat second, but that is not meant to be a slam on Cora. It's just my own personal opinion.

I'd go...

vs RHP

1) Betts RF

2) Bogey SS

3) Beni LF

4) JD DH

5) Moreland 1B

6) Devers 3B

7) (Pedey)Nunez 2B

8) JBJ CF

9) Vaz/Leon C

vs LHPs

1) Betts RF

2) (Pedey) Holt 2B

3) Bogey SS

4) JD DH

5) Beni LF

6) Moreland 1B

7) Devers 3B

8) JBJ CF

9) Vaz/LeonC

It's hard to make a good line-up vs lefties.

I've noticed Mitch Moreland is cooling down. I guess it was only a matter of time.

Moreland was a great pickup, but he is not meant to be any everyday player. He was meant to platoon with Hanley. Hopefully, Moreland's cool down is short lived.

Mr. Tingles is making his haters tingle down their spines.

Did you notice how well he has pitched since someone came up with this name? Maybe we should start creating names for Devers and JBJ.

We have issues vs LHPs. We have nobody to platoon with Moreland. Even Holt hits lefties better.

Let's not go there....

Yes, and they face a good one tonight. Beni, Moreland, Devers and JBJ are all going to have trouble tonight.

Paxton has reverse splits this year. Lefties have done much better against him than righties. Cora said that is why he plans to load the lineup with lefties tonight.

Benni is sitting out this important game

Pomeranz Yet To Resume Throwing

By Steve Adams | June 13, 2018 at 11:19pm CDT

Drew Pomeranz has been on the shelf for nearly two weeks, but the Red Sox lefty doesn’t sound especially close to returning. WEEI’s Rob Bradford tweets that Pomeranz says the pain in his arm has mostly dissipated, but he has limited mobility in his neck, which is still preventing him from even throwing. Pomeranz, 29, originally hit the DL due to tendinitis in his left biceps, though it would appear that he’s experiencing additional discomfort at this point. Knuckleballer Steven Wright has stepped into Pomeranz’s spot in the rotation and tossed 13 2/3 shutout innings in two starts.

I don't see room for him in the rotation at this juncture, but he has shown himself to be valuable out of the Pen.

Any word on Pedroia?

It went down tonight.

This is precisely what people have been concerned about. Later on coming up against a one game series against either the Mariners or the Astros and facing a hot pitcher, probably a left hander, and being shut down. The lineup has some strengths, but without hitting up and down the lineup, and relying on our best may not be enough. I don't see what DD can do under the constraints, but we clearly have weak spots and should be attempting to shore those up.

And yet, the Sox hit Paxton pretty hard 2 nights ago.

For all of the weaknesses that our team supposedly has, we are 2nd in MLB in run differential behind only the Astros. I still think the Astros are the team to beat, but don't sell the Red Sox short.

The Red Sox started the season off 5-0 in one run games. Since then, they have gone 8-8 in one run games.

The Astros are 6-12 in one run games.

Just sayin'.

Maybe Pom could be a huge plus to the pen. Maybe it's just a dream-- like Smith was.

There's also the Thornburg dream.

I have no idea on what's up with Pedey.

I heard there's a guy named Hanley available for the league minimum.

Just kidding!

We're down nearly 1 run per game since Betts got hurt. Let's hope it picks up again.

Shocking that Betts couldn’t hit 1.200 OPS all year and Moreland wouldn’t hit over 1.000 OPS. Your drop in offense from your insane beginning has been the easiest thing to predict. It’s not indicative of your guys playing poorly, it’s far more indicative of poor roster construction

Nobody can keep that type of hitting. Betts still is going to end up 35HR at least. Unfortunately it will be nearly all solo homers.

I think our bottom 3 in the line-up will improve as the year goes on- giving Betts more RBI opportunities.

If Pedey can come back strong, that would push one of our current bottom 3 to the bench.

I never envisioned Devers would struggles as he have. He is a key player who has done nothing. I am not counting on Pedroia.

Devers is just 21. He has a career .750 OPS with 20 Hrs in just under 525 PAs (485 ABs).

Cut the kid some slack. He has done SOMETHING, just not lately. Remember, he was at .814 on May 4th of this year, so it's only been about a 5 or 6 week slump.

It make take more time for him to adjust than we hope, but I'm confident he will.

He seems to be making strides on his defense, which was what I have been most worried about.

He had a bad defensive day today. Lets hope he gets a lot better soon.
