The bigger question is how do you keep out the chronic complainers?

Easy solution: Don't start a separate game thread - just talk about the game on this thread. Then none of the complainers will even know or care about it.

Not a bad idea.

Ignore their posts. That's what I do now and have gone back to the in-game thread once in a while because people who talk there don't know the outcome. There are still some worthwhile posts although many are not.

Geez, I don't have a problem with either of those slides.

What's next, participation trophies?

Initially, I thought the first one was okay, until I noticed him grabbing the fielder's pants leg and pulling him down.

The second was illegal and correctly ruled as such. Wide of the base, couldn't hold the base AND again reached for the leg. He did something similar to Gregorius last year IIRC.

What I don't get is as a middle infielder, one would think he wouldn't like it when somebody does that to him.

The other day in the game thread, some were talking briefly about Machado and Bregman. Bregman is a PITA but so far, it's because he's really good. He reminds me a little of Pedroia from a decade ago; Machado is a very talented punk.

It's great that you don't have a problem with them, but the second one was called illegal.

Well how much middle infield had he played at the time? Not counting the minor leagues, which were years in his past...

Well asshat, my point was that they are softening up the game too much........

yup. they give sucky teams a pseudo chance with a "play in" game pretending to be playoff teams.

im guessing you cancelled your sunday ticket because of the phony anthem controversy.....

So how did you feel when the sox were a wild card team, were they "sucky"?

And I'm not going to be dragged into a political discussion, but let's just say my dad was NYPD, so I will never watch the NFL again and leave it at that.

Perhaps....but thats YOUR opinion. Under the current rules you cannot grab the leg of the IF and you have to try to maintain contact with the bag. Machado knows the rules but intentionally went out of his way to grab the leg of the guy trying to turn the DP. He is a punk.

Correct, which is why I stated "I have no problem....."

So, are we going to see Devers and Holt today?

I hope so.

Maybe if we drive out the lefty. If Kinsler doesn't hit again today, I hope Cora uses that point to keep him out of further starting assignments. Velocity is not his friend and perhaps todays starter doesn't have that velocity. I do have trust in Cora's judgment. I would have started Holt and Devers but Cora is in the best position to determine that.

I agree. I know Cora has more information at hand than any of us.

Hardly a snowflake.

My family has a long history of law enforcement and I refuse to support any group that disrespects them, pretty simple.

Maybe you don't have those values or principles but I do.

I guess you don't value the rights of expression through protest and dissent.

Taking a knee has nothing to do with disrespect.

Everyone has their right to protest. Just as I have my right not to support them. It would be much better if they protested on their own time. I wouldn't have been able to walk in to work and stage a protest, I would have been fired.

And I do find it disrespectful when the founder of the protest wears socks depicting police officers as pigs.....

But I'm not going to change your mind and you certainly aren't going to change mine, so let's get back to baseball.
