Well, I don't take slasher's tone that way since it is not his first attempt to turn threads political. He has a history of that.

That's fine. Nobody can tell you how to read tone. Trust me on that, coming from someone that has problems understanding social cues. In that case, just be the better person and ignore it. As you can tell, the overarching rule of this place is not to make anything political

I believe what he's saying is that you didn't have to bring politics in it. Sure he brought it up first, but he was half-joking, assuming I'm reading the tone right. We would've gotten the point without you alluding to your dad's history with the NYPD, which I absolutely envy and respect FWIW.

BW took the bait and went with "I don't want to get political but....." route. But I'm the dense one apparently! I've been called worse.

So you are admitting that slasher is a troll.

Thanks.

What it actually was, as mvp said, was bait. He was provoking you, because it has been well established that you are a troll. I'm not saying that doing such a thing is right, or even moral, but he was trying to get you torqued up. Challenge completed

I think it comes down to a Yankees fan being on a Red Sox board is more likely to be the troll. Unless you can show yourself to be impartial (like Jacko), you're most likely the troll.

Politics needs to be kept out of a baseball forum. That is an excellent policy. But it needs to be strictly enforced. Unfortunately, that is not always done. There are always those who can't resist injecting their politics. No need for it . There is no shortage of political forums for those who like to engage in that endless , repetitive, redundant and boring left vs right debate. No need for it here.

Actually team loyalty has nothing to do with whether one is a troll or not.

Like you said, slasher laid out the "bait" and I fell for it.

That's the very definition of a troll.

how many different names have you come to this site under?

real question.

you can read my sig for my total.....

I think it's one of those things that can just come down to who your team is. It was't obvious that he jumped past the mark, but his arm was bent behind him and he was jumping backwards. I've changed my mind over and over on it.

That said, it doesn't matter. They had another 8 innings to score the runs needed and it wasn't that moments fault they kept shipping us runs. We won. We deserve it.

I disagree.

I thought the Kemp play was a catch.

I thought this play was a HR, at first. I try to be objective.

Alright this needs to stop, its been pretty clear rule over the years that we don't allow political talk. This is a sports forum, and we don't need this s*** on here, you guys are ruining this thread. Knock it off.

Thanks for this - it was getting sickening.

I'd lay 2 to 1 odds, he's under on both.

Only because he already threw about 60 pitches last night in the pen, and not because I have lost faith.

Good time for JBJ to go on his yearly hot streak that usually lasts 17-22 games, or so.

Jackie's red hot streaks:

2015 (22 games mid Aug to Sept 7) 1.418 OPS

6 HRs 15 2B+3B and 27 RBI in 72 ABs

2016: (19 games in May) 1.366 OPS

7 HRs 6 3Bs and 21 RBI in 69 ABs

2017: (21 games in June) 1.076 OPS

3 HRs 9 2B+3B and 9 RBI in 79 ABs

2018: (4 games in the NLCS) 1.271

2 HRs 1 2B and 9 RBIs in 12 ABs (3BBs and 1 HBP)

All very clutch RBIs!

I was just thinking that yesterday. He could make this postseason much easier.

He's batting 9th again tonight.

Ya. I was thinking recently that JBJ's batting 9th has contributed to Mookie's RBI total. Mookie is 4th on the team in RBI's with 80 and JBJ is 4th on the team in Runs Scored with 76. That's probably not a coincidence.

I'd love to see RBI/Run pairings. Like how many of JDs 1500 RBIs this year were Mookie.

31.

That information is all on the Game Log pages on baseball-reference.com...

Betts has driven in Bradley 15 times.

That might not look like much at first glance, it bear in mind, 32 of his 80 RBIs are himself. So 15 out of his remaining 48 (about 1/3) are Bradley. And Mookie hasn’t driven in anyone else on the team more than 6 times...

Also, Bradley was driven in by Benintendi (19 times) more than he was by anyone else...

Back to baseball.

What's the over/under on pitches or innings Price goes tonight?

After the first time through the order, Cora will start watching the odometer. If Price gets through the order twice, Cora will do backflips.

So far, so very good.

Just caught up on tape delay.

Price was buttah. Only got to 3 Balls on one hitter. Yes, he has "turned the corner" as I had hoped after signs from his last game.

No one will believe me, but I called the Devers HR (one AB too early).

Finish these guys off Eovaldi!
