well so far "struggling teams" have seemed to right themselves vs our SP. would love to see Porcello start this series with a gem.

Question: does Papi get a 1b start at either of the games in Atlanta?

Question: does Papi get a 1b start at either of the games in Atlanta?

From today's Herald:

David Ortiz might not get a chance to use his first baseman’s glove for his final trip to Atlanta.

Ortiz, who received a hearty ovation at Turner Field the last time the Sox visited the Braves, will not be in the starting lineup tonight, Farrell said. Hanley Ramirez will play first base.

Farrell is undecided on Ortiz’ status for tomorrow night’s game.

“David has been on base a lot with the amount of running he’s been doing,” Farrell said. “All of that is factored in.”

Farrell said on the WEEI pregame show yesterday that Hanley would start both games. Interesting to hear something different from the same source. I wonder if something happened between now and then? Maybe Papi didn't want to sit? I certainly wouldn't have the courage to say no to him.

Why the f*** are they giving Hanley AND Ortiz the day off? We already are down a hitter losing the DH so Farrell decides today is a good day to get Rutledge a start also?

Long night for the team? And its not like Hanley is exactly tearing it up out there.

The team didn't arrive at their hotel until 5:30 a.m. Farrell was supposedly wanting to give Hanley a day off anyway.

On a related note,

#RedSox moved their first bus to the park back to 3 pm so the players would rest. Pedroia took a cab and showed up at noon.

Gotta love the guy.

Atlanta is really struggling bad this year. Should be ours for the taking!!

Atlanta is on pace to go 36-126. They are really bad right now. Anything less than taking at least 3 out of 4 would be a disappointment.

Go Sox!

I won't settle for anything less than the Sox marching into Georgia like William f***ing Sherman.

That'll be on my AP US history test next Friday.

A butthole isn't a penis, and where I work we literally just call each other buttholes for fun, its like saying"buddy", "friend", "Man' or something of that nature, I meant no offense but if butthole is that offensive i will no longer say it.

I was referring to your other posts. A cursory glance at all 14 of them shows very little to be impressed by. You're posting like a 13-year old who has just discovered what he can say on the internet without his parents around. This site is not for that kind of thing, so please just knock it off.

AJ is their cleanup hitter, batting .233/.544? Really?

I literally had no idea until this moment that AJ Pierzynski was still on a major league roster. I try to follow the offseason moves, but there are so many around baseball that some of the smaller ones are lost in the shuffle. For some reason I thought Atlanta let him go.

I had no idea that Atlanta picked up Markakis either.

I hope it's not a pitching dual....Porcello is bound to give up a 3 run homer in the 6th or 7th after 5-6 scoreless innings.

After last night, it wouldn't be the worst thing. Porcello's looked better of late. Teheran is their ace, so we can't expect to have a field day on him. Atlanta's bullpen is shot, and I don't think they have the offense to hit a clutch home run like that.
