I watched a few minutes of the DBacks - Dodgers game tonight to see Stripling. Scully was doing the game. Hs broadcasts should all be archived as works of art. If you have never heard Sully broadcast a Dodger game, you must get the Extra Innings package and take in one of his broadcasts before the end of the year. My favorite line tonight was when AGon got jammed and hit a little soft liner to the second baseman. Scully noted that AGon got jammed and said that "it sounded like he hit it with the morning newspaper."

I like this kid Stroman for the Jays. He's damn good.

Yup. I've been tootin' that horn for a while.

Archer is good too.

We got lucky twice with him, catching him on a bad day and now missing him this series.

Scully is the greatest. He was the best part about living in LA for a few years.

I got a kick out of the reasons he provided for rooting for Nick Ahmed, who wears the "unlucky" #13.

Scully is in a class by himself.

Thanks for 2004, Curt, but you're an *******.
Never speak ill of Big Schill. He delivered and let the docs try something completely experimental to allow him to pitch. He put his body on the line to help us win. Unless he beats his wife or kills someone, he's okay with me.

I made that part clear, it doesn't alter facts though.

It doesn't matter to me if he has opinions that I disagree with. I will speak no ill sod Schill and anyone that does is an ingrate imo with a short memory.

I don't really care what he says.

But he does have a screw lose if he keeps saying things in social media that stirs the pot. ESPN has warned him not to do this and he keeps yapping.

That's either arrogance or stupidity.

He's threatening his career at this point.

[h=2]Jays' Colabello suspended 80 games for PEDs[/h]

by: Rob Bradford on Fri, 04/22/2016 - 5:21pm

Chris Colabello’s fairy-tale story has hit a roadblock.

The Milford native, and Assumption College product, was handed an 80-game suspension Friday by Major League Baseball for the use of performance-enhancing drugs, specifically the banned substance dehydrochlormethyltestosterone.

The 31-year-old first baseman had seemingly found his niche with the Blue Jays last season, finishing the 2015 campaign hitting .321 with an .886 OPS and 15 homers in 101 games with the Blue Jays.

Colabello had gotten off to a slow start this season, going 2-for-29 in 10 games with the Jays.

Prior to 2015, he played in parts of two seasons with the Twins after spending seven seasons with Independent League teams in Worcester and Nashua.

Colabello isn’t eligible to return to the Jays until just before the Aug. 1 non-waiver trade deadline, and won’t be available to play in any postseason play, as dictated by rules of the suspension.

I wonder if his parents will be interviewed in the stands about this.

The compound he took is a banned substance in Olympic competition, but harder compounds have been known to appear in OTC stuff. It doesn't excuse testing positive because it means he didn't do his due diligence and took a non-mlb approved supplement IF it's an OTC compound that he took.
