They now become the favorites to get Cole Hamels while Cherington sits in his office with his finger up his ass.

Also, the Dodgers have said that they will be souting other teams to find a replacement for Brandon McCarthy. The competition for Hamels will be stiff, and I am sure that we will hear all the usual excuses when we come up empty handed at the trading deadline.

Others are bound to take you to task on your criticism of Benny Baby, so let me be the first to correct you. You were not precise enough when you said that he is sitting with "his finger up his ass.". He has thumb up his ass.

Today's Orioles game postponed, double header May 28th. Tomorrow's game will be played behind locked doors, closed to the public. Weekend series will be at Tropicana with the Os as the "home" team.

Unbelievable. This game closed to the public must be unprecedented. It will be very strange.

The only thing similar that I've heard of is soccer teams being ordered to play games closed to the public because their fans are too dangerous.

I wonder if there's anyone who hasn't missed an Os home game in like ten years, and now they're screwed. That would suck.

I stand corrected Ted. Your take was much better.

Fred, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want Betts/Swihart to stay, the Sox aren't getting Hamels, and your whining (or a700's, color me surprised) isn't going to change that. People "take you to task" for your criticism of Ben, because you are not intellectually consistent. You can't shout from one side of your mouth that Ben shouldn't sacrifice top guys like Betts and Swihart, then whine that he's sitting on his thumbs when you know very well that's what it would take. Be consistent.

He's been consisten. They shitted the bed on Lester. They passed on Shields. Instead they offered a horrible contract to Porcello and extended a contract to Miley. At this pace your boy Ben would have assembled the worst rotation in RS history. Are you going to start with excuses?

They turned Lester into Porcello. Fail.

Just another criticize the poster post from UN. Color me surprised. I guess that he has to find a way to channel his his burning hot hatred.

But UN is correct when he says Fred doesn't want to trade Betts or Swihart for Hamels, and they are the two guys Philly probably wants.

iortiz doesn't know what consistency means.

Consistency is what the Sox did to build their current starting rotation. Whether or not it was correct remains to be seen, but it was consistent.

Lester has a 6.20 ERA in a cake division. Scherzer is on the DL with a thumb injury. James Shields is a great pitcher, but I'm not surprised they didn't want to pay him till he is 38.

Lester has been struggling too.

Don't you get it? Struggles on a small sample only matter if they allow talksox posters to whine about the Red Sox!

Ben did a great job with the pitching. He got the best guys available and he locked 2 of them up for multiple years. You can't blame Ben for this s*** show. All the good pitchers were already taken by the other GMs-- lucky bastards. ;)

I could see a easy comeback there. Masterson, Miley, Buch and Porcello? I wouldn't bet on them.

Lol! This FO has been consistent in something... Assembling horrible pitching staffs, give them that.

What is going on in Baltimore right now is crazy. They have closed off the game from the public tomorrow, but the game will still play. Imagine a game with zero fans in the stadium, absolutely silent.

They also have moved the games from Baltimore to Tropicana with Baltimore acting as the home team for that series.

It's insane. I'd like to watch tomorrow's game. That is going to be bizarre.

If they still put it on TV and radio, you'll be able to hear every single thing the players are saying. It does sound bizarre, I'm actually really interested to see how it turns out. I wonder if the lack of crowd white noise will affect any of the players?

They are going to have to mute the field microphones and tell the players to watch their language. The umpire's calls will sound like they are being made in your living room.

Too bad it's not on the MLB channel. I'd like to see it just for the "WTF?" factor.

It's free on MLB.com.

Is anyone watching the Orioles' game?

I have been, it is crazy. You can sometimes hear the cell phone buzz in the commentator's box. And I swear I heard police sirens in the background.
