Fred, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want Betts/Swihart to stay, the Sox aren't getting Hamels, and your whining (or a700's, color me surprised) isn't going to change that. Lester has a 6.20 ERA in a cake division. Scherzer is on the DL with a thumb injury. James Shields is a great pitcher, but I'm not surprised they didn't want to pay him till he is 38.

What is going on in Baltimore right now is crazy. They have closed off the game from the public tomorrow, but the game will still play. Imagine a game with zero fans in the stadium, absolutely silent.

They are going to have to mute the field microphones and tell the players to watch their language. The umpire's calls will sound like they are being made in your living room.
