Never apologize to someone who says "I am very disappointed in you" as though she's the board disciplinarian.

First off, I said that I was disappointed in his post, not in him. You may not think there's a difference, but I do.

Secondly, I am not trying to be the board disciplinarian. I consider SoxNCycles a friend, and when someone insults my friend, especially when I find the insults to be inaccurate and unwarranted, I am going to defend him, not that he needs my help.

Lastly, I apologize to you and to the rest of the forum for my posts on this topic. I really do not like getting into this type of back and forth crap, and I think my posting up until this point shows that. I feel bad about it, and this will be my last post on this topic. My sincerest apologies.

Fair enough.

Cycles is the Psycho Dutchy. Same Modus Operandi. Same style. If I am wrong, he is a clone. If the mods don't want to get rid of him, everyone else who likes to talk about baseball and the Red Sox without having to deal with a nut case should put him on ignore. There is no reasoning with insane. Anyone defending him is a very very poor judge of character.

I finally preempted you Ted. Put the dipshit on ignore two hours ago. What a relief not to have to listen to his BS anymore. If Dutchy was anything like him I now know what you and o thers meant when you mentioned Dutchy.

Sometimes I don't know whether to love or hate this board....

Love it User---especially when you have the ignore button to use. Believe me, it can be a revelation.

Good move. He has no intention of discussing baseball or the Red Sox with you. With him, it's all about being insulting and disruptive.

Yes, because folks here aren't intelligent enough to decide for themselves about whom to associate with.

They desperately need you to guide them. ;)

Or, you could stay the course and be non-confrontational and apologize to Youk and everyone else on board ( if you are Dutchy ).

No one questions your intelligence, who ever you are. Your integrity is what is in question.

Come clean and the others will have to STFU.

I haven't got a clue as to who "Dutchy" is.

But, I can't prove it, so it really doesn't mean much.

And I'm puzzled as to why my integrity would be in question.

Seems to me that "turn the other cheek" isn't exactly a motto here.

I didn't start s***, but I have no problem finishing it.

And I tried to keep it private. That didn't work either.

If having to take s*** without standing up for myself is what I have to do to earn integrity here, then I probably am in the wrong place.

A few things jump out every day on this board.

Some people just LOVE to argue. Some can't live without the last word, it eats them alive. Some like to snipe and make catty comments; trying to start arguments or take constant shots at people from the sidelines. Some have serious mental health issues.

It's fantastic. Hours of entertainment.

Oh and fred and a700 are very, very, VERY, odd people.

It really is good fun. A lot of passion here. I know that on my part it can be misguided but without it I'm not living.

That's right. I don't know if Hitch thought he/she was telling us all something that we didn't already know, whether he was just getting something off his chest or just wanted to take a few shotgun blasts at all of us. The only thing that I want to know from Hitch is whether he is an Optimist or pessimist and whether he is a stat geek or a traditionalist. Pick sides. ;)

My wife says I'm weird!!!!!! I can live with that because she usually knows what's what. I'm certainly not your garden variety run of the mill types. Besides, there are a number of us who fall into that category here. More variety the better. What we don't need is a MSNBC type echo chamber. I used the TV station instead of another board.

From the "Things you need in a marathon" - forget the linescore which will end up being not-amazing, but Wright on Friday and Porcello today have been able to keep the pitching staff from accumulating too many miles - not a big deal now, but this is the stuff that adds up over a season.

And don't forget about Miley's start on Saturday.

I am really not happy about Buchholz not backing up home plate in last night's game. It was bad enough that he pitched so badly, but that happens. Not doing your job is inexcusable. I can't imagine that his teammates were too happy about that.

He is a giant lunkhead. Glad I missed that miscue, at least.

I can't swear to it, but I think he did it twice in that inning.

Watching Buch is maddening. He is purported to be a great athlete and to have some crazy good stuff. We have all seen him dominate to the extent that hitters look lost.

Yet we all have this overwhelming feeling of doom when he takes the mound. I swear that he really stupid and probably has little heart.

I will never expect extended periods of good performance from him. I hope that if he has sucked for the entire season that the Sox do not exercise options on him.

He's hard to figure out.

He can be really good. Then, he'll sleep wrong and miss a month, come back and be mediocre.

His crappy stretches were always associated with his health.

Which is why people are saying "when healthy" he's pretty good.

His next two starts should be against the decent hitting O's.

Let's see if they light him up.

Posted
He's not a gamer. Unless he has his A+ stuff, he sucks and doesn't 'battle through' a rough stretch. And the above about not backing up home is just an example of not doing everything he can to win, even without his A+ stuff. An ace does that.

Apparently the Red Sox and Nationals were in serious discussions over Zimmerman this offseason. Rizzo said that there were some realistic trade offers made to them, but they decided it was better to keep their insane pitching staff intact.

I'd love to see the Sox beat up on the Nats the next two days. It could potentially open doors to trade candidates.

I was in DC over the weekend and the prevailing feeling is that the Nats have spent too much time over the winter and in the spring reading about how dominant they are going to be. So I'm enjoying their comeuppance as well. Although I do still think they will be the NL rep in the World Series.
