I was in San Francisco that Saturday in late June, 2010 when it happened. Buchholz tried to break up a double play and the next thing I know he's being escorted off the field. Oh s***, I said, hurt again the little pansy. We had a 4-0 lead and I wanted to win this series, especially after Wakefield s*** the bed and blew an early lead the night before. Fortunately he bullpen did a credible job and we won that game 4-2 and the next afternoon behind a Lester gem 5-1 over Lincecum. I never felt quite the same about Buchholz again. He just looked like a guy who couldn't help getting out of his own way.

Is this is the game that he got hurt running from 1st to 2nd? If so, his injury was just part of the game. I seem to remember him pulling up lame with a hamstring or other leg injury. I don't think that is cause to label him a pansy.

I remember when he was sent in to pinch run that ill fated time. It was justified by the Sox as Buch being the fastest available option. The Sox and the media were quick to point out that Buch was viewed as the best "overall" athlete on the team.

In any case, I think that his lack of brain power is his primary short coming. The Kid is a dope.

Yeah it will be a DL stint with a minor league rehab to work on his "mechanics"

i.e. learning how to correctly pick up a baby without landing on the DL

I find the idea of Buch procreating terrifying. We have too many dunces in this country already!

I'm worried that if he tries again, he might break in half.

Has be been placed on the DL?

No. If he had been you could be sure that jacko would start that thread. He thrives on Red Sox players being injured.

What was the corresponding roster move. I have very little opportunity to check in on this stuff and I am having to depend onJacko for Red Sox news. The rest of you need to step up your game on keeping this place current.

Dope, candy ass, pansy. What difference does it make Spud Boy. He goes from first to second and he comes up lame? He holds his daughter and is out for three and a half months? Sorry, but the guy has problems with his body and his head, and those problems become the problems of the Red Sox and their fans. I wish him well, I wish he could get his s*** together and come back and start pitching the way he did the first half of last year. I just don't believe he is now capable of doing it.

Alex Wilson was called up to replace Clay.

Well at least it wasn't Alan Webster, the human pin ball machine. Of course, does that mean he has to be the one to face Price tomorrow? Oh, never mind.....Let's just worry about winning the game tonight.

@PeteAbe: Pawtucket lists rotation without De La Rosa over 5 days. Doesn’t necessarily mean he starts for the #RedSox on Saturday. But there you go

MVP, gonna tell you something. I know you like DLR and I'll be rooting like hell for him if he is the pitcher Saturday. I have high hopes for Renaudo and Owens, none for Webster, some for Barnes and have no clue about your boy. He has surprised me at Pawtucket. He hasn't been bad at all. Frankly, like you and others, I've had a belly full of Bucky and Doobie. They have not come through at all for us and we needed them (and still do) badly. BTW, pleased about tonight. Bogey got three hits and drove in a run and would have gotten two had Johnson not made a great stop on a scorcher a little wide of third. Fortunately he threw low and the ball got away enabling Jackie to score. I was adamant when some asked it that was a hit or an error. It was a hit because Holt was safe on second, having beat the throw. Four in a row. Nice recovery but we do have a long way to go.

Farrell confirmed that it is Ruby.

I still believe Buchholz DL stint is a phantom one but I guess we will see how long it takes hi to get back. I am excited to see RDLR tho.

I wonder what is happening with our big pick Renaudo?

I thought that he was close to a sure thing. He has not sniffed the bigs yet, I believe.

Just wondering.

Ranaudo is doing well with the PawSox this year...I think he was under consideration for the rotation opening along with Rubby and Webster.

Rubby has the best stuff of the guys considered - really the only one with some #1/#2 level pitches. Command clearly is an issue - but he is the upside play. I am intrigued.

I was hoping it was going to be Webster, he has the highest ceiling of any of the pitchers in Pawtucket with 2 plus pitches(fastball, changeup) and average to plus slider.

PS I think he was pissed about not being called up, tonight's line 8.0ip 3h 1er 7k 1 bb

B has 0 value at this point... But who the hell know, maybe Theo sees some remaining gas in that tank.

Webster has shown some good stuff at times - but he is also a purported sinkerballer who gave up 7 home runs in 30 innings! (SSS caveat here). He has not shown much pitching IQ in his stops here. He has a lot more "elite reliever" feel to me than a guy who can turn lineups over.

De La Rosa clearly showed the potential last night.
