You'd have better luck taping a bat to a ferret and giving it a shot at the plate.

Now that did make me laugh...thank you

Would love to turn back the clock and see how that would have gone if Farrell did bring Bres right after the walk. If Bres failed there, then Farrell could have brought Taz at some point in that inning. Two on with only one out is a way tougher spot than one on and one out.

Farrell says in the presser "Nava is likely to continue to factor in here". What the f*** does that mean John...start Nava for crying out loud!

So I'm watching ESPN right now and all the baseball tonight guys right now are saying that momentum seems to be on the Cardinals side. They're saying that the Cardinals know what they're gonna get from their starters while the Sox do not. They're saying clear advantage to St. Louis. Schilling also said this can easily end 4-1 St. Louis...

Ummm... apparently they're forgetting that at the very worst, we've got Lester to pitch Game 5 and he just came off a dominant performance yesterday. And I suspect Peavy will deliver a light's out game on Saturday night. He is ready to show he's not what he was in game 4 of the ALCS.

As for the talking douches at ESPN... amazing how one game can sway everyone's mind so quickly. f*** them all.

Ah, Baseball Tonight, a golden source of baseball insight.

It's not at all I was just stating what those ass clowns were saying...

Oooh, Schilling also predicted that the Sox would win the ALE... didn't he? I respect his opinion. Hopefully, Peavy and Buch come up big. Farrell needs to bench Salty. He's doing nothing. Drew needs to break out of this horrible slump. Also, as always when pedey hits, we win. If he gets hot, we could roll to the championship.

I am so f***ing sick and tired of the media trying to bury this team. What the f*** is so special about the f***ing Cardinals...nothing...that's what...nothing.

Well, aside from the fact that the combined age of their entire roster is still younger than Tim McCarver.

The 7th was just a terrible inning. The Freese AB turned around the game for the Cards. It was the key AB. it got Lackey' pitch count up and the next hit landed lackey on the bench. The first misplay was Salty not gunning the runner at 3rd on the double steal. The next bad execution was Breslow pitching to Descalso like he was the clean up hitter. Then Salty made another misplay on the throw home, followed by Breslow's misplay on the throw to 3rd. Three fielding misplays and 2 walks in an inning is a recipe for a terrible inning.

Mixed feelings when I see games filled with iffy moments that outweigh the major contributions: Jonny Gomes is more of a party goon than a player these days...I feel like this team is full of these antagonistic holes that can't all function at the level that the postseason requires because they are SEVERELY overmatched...only a few certain players carry the momentum... players like Salty, who's probably picturing himself on the off season driving range whenever he follows through on a whiff on a ball in the dirt, clearly are out of their league, and when I see them screw up it makes me weary of this season...alot of inneffective players riding the coattails of Ellsbury, Nava, and Pedroia, partying it up on the new NESN 24 hour apres party rave extravaganza....I hated seeing things like Dempster making out with his girlfriend (although she was hot...some catch for a guy who looks like a complete neanderthal) on the field after they clinched the east...and still won't sit that well with me if they win it all...

It just doesn't make any f***ing sense at all... I get Gomes brings energy, but you have to play to strengths and Nava has the ability to present challenges for this right handed heavy lineup.

What do you mean? ... Nava only batted .320 against RHP this season ... why should he be playing?

Should have known. My Lester shirt always brings bad luck, and I wore it under my work clothes anyways. Had to show some love after the dominance he showed yesterday, but I f***ed up the mojo. For sure I'm only wearing Pedroia's shirt from now on. I did a 10 hour shift and didn't take a break hoping I can catch the end of the game. What a fail. I starved myself for no reason. Really hope we win Saturday because I would hate to be down to the Cardinals with the next 3 away with no DH.

Glad this Gomes' narrative is over. It's such ******** to begin with. He's another auto out as Salty and Drew are in the playoff. If you go down, go down with your best players.

I agree with the folks that said Koji should've been brought in to face Descalso. Tying and go ahead run on base in the seventh inning is as high leverage as it gets, so why not use your best reliever? And it makes even more sense you when consider that he'll get to face Beltran and Holliday in the eighth. Then turn it over to the Tazawa/Breslow combo in the ninth against the bottom half of the order.

At the same time I wouldn't hold this against Farrell, because no manager would make this move -- just not how things are done.

As I said... Too much to ask for Farrell and most of MLB managers. Sometimes and specially in key situations when they have to go by the book, the don't, and when not, they go.

The problem is that had Farrell gone the unconventional route and brought Koji in that situation and they tied the game or got the lead, people would be complaining. Had he used Koji and he got through the rest of the seventh/eighth unscathed, but Breslow/Taz coughed up the lead in the ninth, people would be complaining. It's a no-win situation for the manager, and it's really easy to complain if you're a couch manager. That said, he probably left Lackey one batter too many before going to Breslow.

I know, sorry. I was really mad at myself yesterday, no lie. Like I thought about all the bad luck the Lester shirt brought me and all the good the Pedroia shirt got me. I'm usually not like this, but it's crazy how things end dependjng on what I wear. Will not f*** up again, that's for sure.

Yup, it's BTR's turn unless we're throwing in a surprise 5th starter.

*Looks directly at BTR instead of a 5th starter*

The fantastic four got us this far, we should keep it going. They'll be plenty of time for everyone else to make GTs next year, f*** that.

Breslow cannot walk Descalso there. A LH hitting #9 hitter, Breslow HAS TO get that out. That was the key to the whole inning.

Just a bad performance by Breslow. Who has been great for months.

As long as we win, I don't give a s*** who takes the credit.
